laser cuter not working

I have also failed to make anything cuter by applying a laser to it. All they get is burnt and blackened, not cuter or more attractive in any way. I hope the devs fix this bug soon.

I noticed it doesn't work on some objects. Maybe you're using it on the wrong things ?

im using it on the doors and crates and nothings happening

It can only be used on specific things. It can cut through sealed doors in wrecks, but does not cut through the sealed doors in The Aurora that you need a code for. It requires a bettery, and if you battery is used up, it will not work. And also, if you have it aimed at an item it can cut, the hitboxes for those items is still a bit wonly, and often hard to hit and hold through the entire cutting duration.

Check you battery in it, you may need a fresh one, or if you just made it, you may need to put a battery in it. And it only works on the smaller white Supply Crates, not the larger Cargo crates strewn all around.

If you don't get a prompt that says "SEALED DOOR/CRATE cut open to access" then you can't use the Laser Cutter on it.

I went to the big wreck in the red grass biome and i see doors like it and when i use freecam it seems you can go into it but for some reason the pop up isnt showing up for me please dont be annoyed but im pretty new to the laser cutter i know if your supposed to access it just yet

The hitboxes to trigger the indicator can be wonky at times. If you are at a sealed door that should react to the laser cutter, you may have to mouse over it to find the hitbox. Usually at or near v center point, sometimes they are off a bit to the side. And there are some sealed doors in wrecks that you cannot cut open. You may have found one of those.

And... you may have found a bugged door. It's happened to me a few times, and on the reddit discussions I have seen a few people talking about the same bug. All from previous updates, so I don't know if the bug still exists in this update. I haven't had it happen this update, but that doesn't mean the bug is gone for everyone.

And not annoyed, just posted the pics so you knew what the Supply Crate and the door with the indicator looked like. Game is still Early Access, and still has a ton of bugs that need to be fixed. And we were all new once and had to learn, one way or another.

thanks i tried everything but its still nothing intresting thing i should note is the cutter seems to be acting like a flashlight instead of a cutter heres a picture to said thing
