Deleting structures

If I place a building part in the wrong place how do I delete it? Also, when I press F3 to get to the console and press esc to pause the game I can not uncheck the console button. What am I missing?

Swim up to the structure with the Habitat Builder equipped an you'll see a prompt "Press E to deconstruct" - BUT NOTE there is a bug currently that renders Multi-Purpose Rooms un-deconstructable.

For console hit F3 then F8 to unlock your mouse.

Wow really? I gotta go check that out, haven't had much time to play since latest update... only long enough to zip down to the lava zone and check out the new nasty critters.
