I got the radio signal for lifepod 2
I was honestly not expecting it because it was already eighty some in game days, but when I read up on it, the wiki said it contained the cyclops depth module mk1. I got over there and found only a pda. No databox. I'd hate to go back there a second time because ♥♥♥♥ the locals, but I'd really love that depth module.

I have just got the depth module, it was in the Aurora some place or in a capsule I found outside the aurora.
That capsul was in the shallows some place near where you enter the ship, that's all I can tell you.

The datapad is on the ground just outside of the pod. You might have missed it thinking it was inside the pod instead.

Capsules are randomly placed in the game. Your capsules won't be the same as someone else's. You got lucky.

Went back again. Looked around as long as I could stand before the creatures got on my nerves. I saw nothing over there. Might have to find another place to get the module.

Search up on youtube the things you don't know how to find, and if you can, watch videos made by a guy called "Landis". He has a intro that may seem a bit cringy the first few times you see it (just because so many toxic/bad youtubers use NCS released songs for intros) but he gives clear guides that are straight to the point and also states the gear you need and possible hostiles you may find along the way. He also doesn't spoil anything.

He's a good Subnautica guide youtuber, as he's not one of those people who literally has a twenty second intro of dubstep and start rambling for another 3 minutes with "WHAT'S GOING ON GUYS!!!! TODAY WE'RE PLAYING SUBNAUTICA, MAKE SURE TO HIT THAT LIKE BUTTON, SUBSCRIBE AND SHARE TO JOIN THE FREE GIVE AWAY OF A (insert item here), LIMITED TIME ONLY!!! WE MADE SO MANY ADDITIONS TO THE BASE, LIKE THIS OVER HERE..."

Anyway, you get the point. Sorry, I just really hate those youtubers, and for some reason most of the Subnautica videos are made by those sorts of people. It's either that or they don't give a clear guide.

Or riding jokes to death.... Once I heard "shield your eyes guys" for the 3rd time when a certain steam players used the laser cutter again, I stopped watching his series...

I'm not talking about playthroughs, I'm talking about his guides. I listed the reasons I enjoyed his guides over other peoples' ones, and I don't think I would need to express myself any further than I already have.

Lifepod 2 is in a very important location. You might want to build a small base there. And if this is news to you, you are not as far into the game as you think you are.

Also, databoxes are somewhat randomized. If you are late in the game and have most of the items that databoxes provide, then they will not appear. Chances are the databox with the MK1 cyclops module has already spawned someplace else, like in a wreck you did not fully explore.

I guess nobody noticed this thread is from 9 months ago?

This one is still relevant to new players tho. Lifepod 2 is well protected because there is a lot of very interesting items not far away from it.

I've actually made a bunch of progress since making this post but then stopped playing when the Cove Tree swallowed up my Cyclops and glitched my save game pretty damn hard. XD I might start over one of these days.

Rip. Anyway, as miklkit said, I like to leave replies on these threads in case a new player comes looking instead of making an entirely new one.

About Coops' post, I didn't need (or want) to build a base there due to the Ghost. If you're talking about the Lost River entrance, there's a much safer one at the edge of the bulb zone and building a base for convenience is still a decent idea, like with what I did (warning, possible spoilers): When you find the Alien Thermal Plant, make sure to activate the ancient gateway there. It leads to the security platform on the island, so you can build a base inside the lava castle next to the plant and just warp back and forth with materials and what-not. Doesn't have to be large, I just had one multipurpose room with a large storage cabinet, 2 thermal plants and a bioreactor for power and a moonpool to house a second PRAWN suit so I don't have to take one back and forth. Also grow marblemelons for food and a lantern tree for bio-fuel.
The reason I built a second PRAWN suit is because when you take it down the gravity lift, it can't go back up unless you get one or two grappling hooks and go outside through the submarine port, but considering warpers can warp you out of the suit it's not the best idea.

Utilising the Alien Gates can be extremely useful for convenience purposes, especially since the Thermal Plant is 1400 metres down, without counting having to go to one edge of the map and enter the river and go all the way down and everything, with the risks of Ampeels, A Ghost Leviathan and a Sea Dragon Leviathan.

Sorry for the long post, just giving out my suggestions.
