i say pc because of mods. the game is far more comfortable when modded.

I have a pretty old, but good laptop. Apart from loading for 10 minutes, the game runs very well with my integrated video card. I don't know if the new engine affects it though. I had played it quite some time ago.

That is very old and very small. iMacs usually have laptop video cards in them, so I'm not sure how well it'll perform. Maybe on lowest settings will be fine? But I don't imagine it'll be the best experience.

Mods are PC-exclusive and can massively expand the gameplay and potential you can have with Subnautica. If you have a decent gaming PC, go for that version.

So id say PC. Free is only so good when compared to a game that is able to be modded for further stuff/enemy's/WEAPONS etc.

if you have a crap pc: it's free on ps4.

however the framerate is capped to 30 on PS and if you come from +60 on pc with mods and draw dristance increased it's hard to go back to console version.

If you wants mods and redeemable codes, PC. If you want better controls (and depending on your PC, run better), I'd say console. I have never played Subnautica on a PS but I play it all the time on Xbox, I played it three times on PC and now I can't play for some odd reason.
