There is also a large hole near the center that leads deeper, but the lava castle is on the main level.

As for survival, you'll want to bring the usual supply of food, water, and med kits. If you're heading to the lava castle, and you want to make sure you don't need to backtrack, you should bring 2 purple tablets. Those are necessary to progress. After visiting that area, you will need to construct addition items to beat the game, so it's strongly recommended that you create a small base with a fabricator somewhere nearby. Even just a single room base powered by a thermal plant is fine.

If you'd like to watch some guided gameplay you can try this:

In general the Reinforced Dive Suit is a good idea, it will let you swim around without taking damage from the heat.

You should be able to get enough Kyanite to upgrade the Prawn without going below its crush depth, just need to look around right at that depth.

It's right in the middle of the Active Lava Zone (about 1,300m depth).

The Thermal Plant in the video's title is the "lava castle".

ok thanks. but is there any upgrades i should get for my prawn because when i went down there the warpers were not very happy with me. also the fire dragon almost broke my prawn. how should i avoid them. is there something that could help?

There aren't really any upgrades that directly help with Warpers or Sea Dragons, as those are just challenges you'll have to manage. Keeping your distance is the best tactic, and repairing any damage immediately once you're safe will also help. The stasis rifle can also be a big help. Both Warpers and Sea Dragons can be frozen with a single shot, and this will allow you time to escape and evade damage.

Having a grappling arm for the Prawn will allow you to move faster and potentially avoid/escape danger, however. Having a drill arm will also allow you to mine Kyanite and pretty much any other resource you might need (every metal/mineral in the game can be found in the lava zone).

You should go there with Cyclops and preparing resource to make a base to support for missions there.
