Key bindings keep resetting

So this has been a big issue for a while for me and many other people I've seen in the forums years back, yet its still not fixed. Any time I revert back to the main menu or quit the game, my keybindings get reverted. This game seems to just be abandoned for below zero.

Still but this key binding issue has plagued the game for a long time and after a while it gets really annoying.

Are you changing the key bindings from the main menu before or after you load a save file? I've noticed that the pre-load game settings from the main menu (both graphics and key binding) tend to override the individual save game settings, and not always consistently. So see if changing the key bindings from the main screen works before loading the save file.

That seemed to have fixed it, thanks. Still awfully annoying how settings aren't applied globally through the menu and the save files. Very confusing for people who don't know that the menu settings overwrite the save settings.
