Is crossplay with xbox possible?

I have a friend that has this game on xbox. Is PC and xbox crossplay possible?
I heard that pc and pc crossplay is possible using a mod for multiplayer co op.

there's no multiplayer whatsoever, never mind xbox.
there's experimental fan-made mod called Nitrox, which obviously works only on PC. consoles don't allow for modding games, in general.
