Trouble getting out of water in PRAWN?

Running into some situations (uh pew pew and pool with friend) during end game where I'm stuck in these pools of water, grappling hook will not pull me out, jump jets wont get me out, I can't climb out. It's pretty annoying. I can understand not being able to climb up easily in a PRAWN, but why doesnt my grappling hook pull me up?

I was trying not to be too spoiley so PCF (edited) pool is one. QE area is another.

just had the same problem, i think its related to game not registering getting back to water, and thinks you are still on land

Even after all this time, getting my prawn out of the late game swimming pool is still one hell of a mother ****er even with grappling hooks and jump jet upgrades.

Time was I'd be able to slinshot myself up to the platform on the opposite side of the room that looks like it should have a portal gate but doesn't, on demand. But these days it just feels so much worse.

I know what you're talking about OP - getting out of the PCF pool in a PRAWN is basically impossible, even with the Grapple - for that location specifically tho, I heard there's a portal entrance hidden down there somewhere that will take you to the portal exit directly above the pool (directly across from you when you first enter).

I went looking for it after hearing this and couldn't find it, but I was PRAWN-less at the time so there was a deep area I didn't have enough O2 to fully check out.

For the QEP there's really no reason to bring the PRAWN inside, and if you really wanted it inside you could always take it around via the beach entrance instead of up through the Moonpool.

Yup. it was just a long walk back to my first base, and then I had to go back to get my cyclops which I left behind. More of an annoyance than game breaking, but I just wanted ot make sure I wasn't missing something. There are a few times I've slingshotted out of the water with the PRAWN, (like while coming up a beachside cliff) but I'm not sure how to do it on purpose.

it's actually pretty easy to get out of there with the prawn and the jump jet upgrades. the problem is the prawn grappling arm doesn't have the strength to pull the prawn vertically through the air.

to get out via the entrance to the pool stand on the platform and then jump jet straight up, when you clear the water fire your grappling arm towards the back wall horizontally, this will pull you towards that while the jets keep you barely out of the water.

also, that back area that looks like it should have a portal actually does, there's one and a ion crystal to power it inside the tank

there is a portal on the pool of the PFC that teleport you back to the top outside the pool
