Do the emergency flotation devices work right?
Now I haven't done any timing yet so I could be off base, but I have used these things several times now and if they are faster than just holding space bar to surface, it's not much. And seaglide is definitely fast to surface with.

It does help but the difference from simply swimming is small, it becomes obsolete very quickly.
Alright, well that sucks. I was actually thinking it would be quick, you know for emergency. Like you know if yer down 100m with like 15 seconds of oxygen left.
One benefit is that it will continue to drag you to the surface even if you pass out from lack of O2 - it has saved my bacon on a few occasions.
You can get better equipment so quickly that many things are basically useless. Like the flotation device, the air pump, or the flares.
Unless you are forcing yourself to play with limits (no-vehicle run, or things like that) they have no use in the game.
The Air Bladder also picks up momentum the longer it’s active. It takes time to reach peak speed, though, so you should be aware of your O2 at all depths to decide when is best to use it (Generally speaking, 30-50 seconds depending on your depth, though I would not recommend using the Bladder if you’re below 300 meters).

Once you get the Seamoth’s crush depth to 300m, the Air Bladder becomes obsolete as the Seaglide outclasses it far and away in terms of horizontal speed.
