Unknown Worlds Entertainment absolutely weak work!
Google Translate:

SUPER BAD !!!!!!

First destroy the configuration options with the Clipmaps.json files to adapt the LOD [Level of Detail)!
NO! EVEN BETTER:
Now they have actually removed the Clipmaps.json!

Reason:
Before the Big Little Update came, I had almost not only finished a really good graphics configuration, but also researched the setting options in order to improve the performance significantly at the same time! Which I would have published for everyone in the end! Since most configurations have only been roughly put together on the net without knowing the individual values or fine-tuning the performance ...

THE GAME WAS BEAUTIFUL AND ABSOLUTELY PERFECT WITH ITS OWN CONFIG!
- 99% no more PUBLISHING or PUBLISHING graphics!
- Lush, wide, large areas of red grass!
- Underwater animals as far as you could still see them in the water!
- Clean "fade" transitions of graphics of the landscape! (Instead of the textures suddenly popping in, the graphics are gently beamed in! One of the strengths of the Unity Engine!
It was an absolute and really good atmosphere!

And now? So that the performance was further improved, only the LOD WAS CUT DOWN! WITH HIGH SETTINGS! Are we playing here on an ancient console or what ?!
Why do we PC gamers have to put up with such bad console graphics ?! Why are you destroying the possibility of enjoying the game in an absolutely really good atmosphere ?!

Unknown Worlds Entertainment is the absolute worst developer team for me in 2020! And in the future we will give you a huge berth!

You are the reason why I never buy sequels again! I absolutely regret buying Subnautica Below Zero!

Basolut Poor performance from you!

If you don't feel like providing the game with love anymore, then please keep your hands off it and let us modders take care of the detail! And give us the clipmaps configurations again!

End of frustration!

Kind regards.

SUPER SCHLECHT!!!!!!

Frust Ende!

MfG.

Unknown Worlds really should have fixed the numerous bugs and performance issues that were still in base Subnautica game before even starting the expansion, as many of those same issues have persisted right into BZ. Much as love this game, I would entirely understand someone who refuses to buy BZ as their way of discouraging devs from releasing a buggy mess of a game and never fixing it, even though many of the issues were identified YEARS ago by players during early access.

One person not buying BZ will discourage the devs from releasing a "buggy mess"? Come on now.

I think you have no idea how big my community is. I'm not the only one who thinks that way and has been hoping for an improvement from the developers for months ...

Then tell them. They don't talk here, email them or smthn. Don't complain to the community.

No, I'm not new. I've owned the game since around the release. I've just never seen a dev respond to a post here after the game released until now.

Devs respond regularly, just mostly not to troll nonsense, mostly. You can literally look at Obraxis post history to see this, and that's just one of the Devs who post.

Well they didn't when I used to be really active here.

Google Translate:

This is really bitter on my part! I went through all the folders beforehand and must have totally overlooked that ...
In the future I will use the file search instead of looking for it manually ...

Hence my sincere apologies!

I think it's really great that they responded to my frustration post and point us to the new folder. Of course, I didn't expect that ... Thank you very much!

However, it should be said; that I look at the clipmaps again as the days go by. Because about a year ago, when the Big Little Update came, some values in the clipmaps were no longer properly functional. As if some values are overwritten or no longer have any effect. If that should still be the case, I would make a new contribution that goes into the details.

Hence my request to you developers; Of course, if your priorities and time allow, I would wish that you could fix the clipmaps if they still don't work as they did before the Big Little Update.

More level levels in the clipmaps are of course great, but unfortunately bad when the other levels no longer have any effect.

Because as already said, you can make the game really breathtaking for medium to strong machines in terms of the graphics.

In addition, I would then also have the opportunity to make an additional small guide for which values change what. <- That alone had cost me endless hours and picture for picture comparisons ... And the community also seems to be very interested. That's why my frustration was so great when the Big Little Update came and suddenly my own config was shot up / no longer worked. I would really like to enjoy the game in such splendor and finish playing.

Kind regards.

MfG.
