Does the Kharaa kill you?
I know that canonically it can kill you, but gameplay-wise, can you die from it? Because I really don't wanna have to rush through the story after I enter the disease research facility. Thanks in advance!

I found this a bit disappointing, the disease is only keeping you on the planet and there is no sense of urgency to cure yourself. If something at least like your health going down over time and you needed to eat more often or use medikits to stave it off at least it'd feel like you weren't just some Space Typhoid Mary.

No thanks. A lot of people enjoy the ability to play the game at there own pace.

I feel like this might make an interesting addition to hard mode, maybe the kharaa kills you after 80 days or so?

I guess is a game design decission.

I dont think that people will be happy if they die after 50 hours of playing.

Anyway playing is not comfortable if you need be faster than timer.

Just a suggestion, could be anywhere from 80-120 ingame days

I beat the game after 150+ days. So I would be totally dead

It does change how some things in game respond to you, but it won't kill you. infected 4 life.
Just a plot hook designed to spook you.

Oh god no.
Just a random game over after X amount of game time?

They should make a separate game mode option from hard mode and just call it Kharaa (something of the sort) with the 80 days till death option. I'm sure many would love that, possible use it as a speed run option.

Forced time limits do not mesh well with open-world, exploration-oriented games. I'm personally glad that the disease doesn't do any damage.

Why not just stop playing after X days unless you have cured yourself?

This is kind of pointless given how easy it is to rush the cure, though. I made a dedicated effort to see how fast it was possible to do, and I was able to do it shortly after the time the Aurora exploded. Didn't even build a Seamoth yet or anything.
