Did the floating island get moved?
Playing the game on console, it does have the Ghost Leviathan, and when I go to where I last remember the FL should be. Behind the Aurora, where the engines are, and all I end up going to is the "Dead Zone". Where the damn Ghost Leviathan roams and I can't find the Floating Island anywhere, so did it get moved...is it a weird bug and is missing...did I go the wrong way or is it over the Dead Zone and guarded by the Ghost Leviathan.

Somebody explained to me what I'm doing wrong, because it starting to irritate me with the Ghost Leviathan spawning and trying to eat me.

Here's a good map from the wiki that shows the floating island in relation to the Aurora:

From I can tell by the beacon and life pod, I was at least 1800m or more from the aurora as they showing 1789m. any more and i'll be in the Dead Zone

When you are at your lifepod can you see the cloudy section on the horizon favoring the southwestern end of the Aurora?

I's a bit difficult to say just looking at a static image but your angle makes it look like you're a bit too much south.

If you check your messages, you eventually get coordinates to this location.

any further I would be in the dead zone, is that where it is? because I should've seen it there as the aurora would start vanishing if I go further. and I say again, this is on xbox one. stuff load up differently than on pc

You are definitely too far south-southeast.

The floating island just barely aligns with the set of engines on the lifepod's side (that is, in your picture, the left engines)

Man, you are going WAY too far out. Look for the really cloudy area practically directly behind the aurora a little. But damn, you are going way to far out if the Aurora starts to vanish.

thank for the help, finally found the damn place. I either kept passing it or wasn't close enough for the island to load. likely loads up faster on pc, depending on the pc, and likely takes longer with console and to be very close. saw the trees first before the island itself loaded in, was still quite annoying.

because I even went behind the aurora and went straight out towards SW, looking left and right as best I can. very likely passed it as it hard to get the seamoth to surface enough to see pass the water.

Hold up your pda. look through the pda. turn an search for a white cloud only seeable through this. the clouds are where the islands are. easy

EDIT: this only works daytime. at night the are dark grey

already found it, fenrir. like i mentioned in my last post, i likely passed it and never saw it due to how things load in the distant. I had to be very close before i even saw the island, the trees and bases loaded up first before the actual island did.

did also found the mountain, the island with the alien gun, and it also did the same with the floating island. not everything loaded in and i had to circle it a bit before i could see everything and the gun itself, the interior loaded in first for me.

console version of subnautica very much needs more optimizing for better graphics and loading. hopefully, i can get it on PC somepoint.
