Sometimes in stages of the development you can sorta kinda get away with forcing yourself to bunnyhop brute force physics your way by. But most of the time it's just much more sensible to bring along the physics gun.
Although I'm seriously hoping theres a craftable rocket launcher in the game. On my last trip to the Aurora, I saw something lurking in the depths. Something big....
yeah thats a ................... oh wait no spoilers, just one hint, if you hear a LOUD roar, swim way fast or kiss your butt goodbye.
...But it sucks, and wouldn't really work on what you heard anyways.
PDAs also tell you "Due to high power consumption and non-lethality, conventional weapons are recommended for personal defense." in the data entries for some of the non-lethal tools.
So the lore says you should have guns, the company appolgizing that your defalt lifepod only has knife as a freebie is still telling you to use guns. You just don't for developer stylistic reasons.
To be fair, most of the game that works out pretty well. It only gets old when stuff stops working as intended/advertsied, or spawns are spamming an area (which adds to the odds of your current options not working right)
If you finish the Aurora exploration and manage to Repair the reactor room then the radiation will clear up and you will no longer need the Rad Suit, and welcome to Subnautica!
Git gud bad.
Not so fun to feel it explode when you're pretty close to it..
I survived the latter once.. did a major number on my health but damn.. swimming around collecting stuff and then the countdown starting made me panic lol
Sorry to be obtuse, but what did you think would happen if you stood next to the exploding space ship? You're paste - just what should have happened. :P
On my very first playthrough I admit to swimming toward the Aurora until the radiation made me back off - and this was *after* the warning about there being radiation near the Aurora.
