Sea Emperor Leviathan makes no sense *spoilers*
In my opinion, the sea emperor leviathan makes no sense. How has it not yet escaped its containment? We know from in-game lore that it has been in there for almost 1000 years, and so have its eggs, so we know it wasn't placed inside as a baby. Also we see the Sea Dragon Leviathan, which is a fraction of the size of the emperor, absolutely wreck the other containment facility. Some of the damages seen in game could have been caused by the environment, but looking at the lack of wear of the other facilities it is likely that most of the damage was caused by the dragon. So how has the emperor not broken out in centuries? If it wants to free its children so badly, it should be able to cause severe enough damage to the containment facility to escape, especially over the course of a millenia.

Maybe she didn't want to abandon her eggs, maybe the Sea Dragons are a natural predator of her species, or her eggs in particular. She seems peaceful and more concerned with her eggs than anything else. Seems to me she knows she won't be alive much longer and needs to protect the eggs at all costs.

Is it a bad thing that SG1 recall makes perfect sense to me?

Miss that series.

I liked Atlantis alot, until the writers deviated from the Ancients and their tech and focused on that Michael bs, series got way boring until 2nd half of last season. And as far as SG Universe, you'll have a better chance of getting me to accept high gas prices and like space engineers before I like that show.

Is anyone missing the fact that the Sea Emperor is aquatic and she is in an enclosed aquarium with the only way out being out of the water and in a way-too-enclosed space? That, and there are the eggs. She would probably never leave the eggs again until they hatched, considering what has happened to the other offspring in the past.

Yes but that aquarium is under water, if it got busted either lava or water would flow in not air. The aquarium was purpose built just to house this leviathan, after they allready had the data from the other one breaking out. I would assume an advanved race could figure out what went wrong the last time and fix it for the next facility. Although 1000 yrs is a long time of being in a very boring confined space, she better have been hibernating or taking a very long power nap some of that time.

Definitely my take as well.

Where would it go? That facility is dug into the ground, not resting in some larger area. The only way out is basically air-gapped, and even then it would have to deal significant damage to the facility which is likely too dangerous to pull off.

The dragon just damaged the hull and then died but how was supposed the emperor to drill a hole in those walls?
dancle Jul 13, 2017 @ 12:52pm
Also, once the Emperor left, she would be left in a horrible volcanic lava zone; clearly not her habitat, with no entrances large enough to reach the surface, and several EXTREMELY territorial and aggressive Sea Dragon Leviathans attacking her.
dancle Jul 13, 2017 @ 12:53pm
And how would she ever bring or hatch the eggs with her, the only thing she cares about?
dancle Jul 13, 2017 @ 1:00pm
And she somehow increased her age limit far beyond normal, so basically in human terms she's about 200 years old. Do you know any 200 year olds who can break down solid steel walls?

It wouldn't have to, it could have just used its enormous claws to widen the exits enough for it to fit through as those are structural weak points and it is considerably strong because of its large size. Also the Sea Dragon was able to inflict enough damage to cause the entire facility to shut down in a single attack that is unlikely to have lasted more than a few minutes, as otherwise the precursors could have retaliated against it, and the Emperor has had almost 1000 years.

How do we know it isn't her habitat? The Sea Dragon Leviathans resemble the emperor very closely in their biology, so it isn't unlikely they share imilar habitats, also considering its size, the Leviathan habitat would have to be very large anyways and could conceivably span multiple biomes. Furthermore, the sea emperor is much larger than the dragons, so it is unlikely they would pose to great of a threat, and when entering the containment facility aquarium, it is stated that the predators are showing unusually pacife behaviour, which indicates that the emperor may excrete some sort of pheromone or other to pacify nearby predators.

Where did you find that? In game evidence does not support that she is unnaturally old, so it would be more like a 90 year old. Also, she's been in there for a 1000 years. She was placed in there at a much younger age, and the Precursors died shortly after due to the carar, giving her plenty of time to escape.
