Mushroom forest power supply?
So I relocated my base from the safe shallows to the giant mushroom tree in the northwest mushroom forest, and I built 1 bio generator, which wasn't enough. I'm trying to decide if I want to:
1: build a second generator
2: place a bunch of solar panels on the top of the tree
3: find a heat vent and use thermal generators

build a nuclear reactor

I don't have the blueprints, where's the best place to get them?

What are the coordinates for the vrnts

Solar panels looks more easy to set up, depending on your depth.

What are you trying to power in your base? If you have a scanner room then you can deactivate it to save on power consumption if need be. Likewise, you can power down the water filter machine if you have one. I think it has something to do with power to wait ratio.

I prefer the geo-thermal power units and then using power connectors. :lunar2019piginablanket:

OK thanks

I just realized something too. If you already have the bio reactor, go fetch some sea strider poo and put in it. It lasts a loooooong time. You can find the giant sea striders South to South East of the starting capsule, about 1700m out and about 400m down. They kick up some awesome resources too, like diamonds :)

That's what its for, I didn't grab any last I was there cuz it was poo

yeah if you got local seatreaders, and get your prawn suit its useful to max out its capacity and go on a poo run. your base will be powered for a very long while.

the other thing to do is grow things like predator eggs in a alient habitat tank, and pull them out for fuel. they take awhile to propogate but are good fuel for those long trips away from your base.

I prefer to use the Oculus. They are small, and provide a ton of energy, lasting a long time. Breed them right on base. As for the best, closest power source, you may want solar. Use a power transmitter from the top of the highest tree where you have placed them. While they won't give continual power, it may be better than swimming into the Dunes for a thermal vent.

I don't build in the forest but beside it on a plateau. 10-12 solar panels on a moonpool first and then a bioreactor powered by blood oil keeps it well powered.

Mkay thanks!
