Different subnautica versions (builds date) in epic games store and steam

Why subnatica in epic games launcher has build date december 2018, but in steam it's septemver 2018? How can i update it in steam?

Judging by the build numbers the Epic version is an experimental build from early December 2018.

Opt into the beta program and it might update to the latest experimental build.
