Issue with getting ore from large deposits.

So, I got my prawn suit and was mining large ore veins, realized i wasn't getting any ore from it in the storage or in my inventory. Ideas on possible causes or fixes?

Is your prawn's storage full? Do you see the actual pieces appear while drilling? Are you trying to mine kyanite? (sometimes it has a very low spawn rate)

First: Do you have the drill arm attached?
The drill arm is very slow. It takes a while for the first nuggets to be broken off.
You need to hold down the drill button continuously and the drill icon should be showing.

You don't get a whole lot of material from a big deposit. I mined a big deposit of kyanite only to discover later that I only got 3 pieces.

Because Kyanite is balanced differently than any other mining deposit.

^This is very important and easy to overlook. You're only *actually* drilling if you see the little drill icon and the name of the material you're drilling.

Many times I have *thought* I was drilling, only to notice there was no icon - shift a centimeter to the left and see the icon? Now I'm drilling.

I am getting no ore drops, suit storage was empty, no ore fell to the ground, was using the prawn drill on large deposits so it was actually being mined. The deposit was definitly mined as the chunks did vanish off the thing.

Make sure you are very close to the deposit. I noticed my prawnsuit misses some ores unless im really close.

First, have you tried verifying game files? It's amazing how many problems that can sometimes fix.
Second what type of deposit were you mining? If it was kyanite (the blue crystals) this can happen. And if not, then yes that sounds like a bug.

Go to the game in your steam library, right click, Properties and local files.

What are you mining that you're not getting anything from?

You have to mine the ore that drops, not just the mineral vein.

kyanite large deposits dont always yield crystals, this is a really weird one, but kyanite drop rate is not at 100% like it should be on kyanite nodes.

what? no you dont. there are no ore veins in subnautica originals. not like the ore veins and materials veins in below zero. if your vehicle inventory is full the game will tell you when it goes to vacuum up it will bounce off the vehicle and back onto the ground.
