Where do I find Salt Deposits and Cave Sulfur?

I've only recently gotten the Seaglide and found out how to get water. I want to get a repair tool and cured meat, but I have no Idea where to get the resources. The only one I have some idea of the location for is the cave sulfur, which I assume might be in the cave system not too far off from the starting point, but I haven't explored those much.

You know little redish creatures that swim at you and explode in caves? They come out of a redish thing that flaps open. The sulfur is in them. That one got me as I have only recently started playing also.

The salt is tiny whitish crystal clumps and seems to be everywhere but you might want to go a little out from the shallows.

Try this wiki if needed and type in what you are looking for and suggestion pop up as you type in search.

Is there anything I need to strike with the knife to get salt, or am I just looking in the wrong places?

And yeah, I did run into those things. I slashed at 1 on instinct but three more popped up and exploded before I got a chance to escape.

He's kind of a jerk but a lot of people find his spoiler-free tutorial videos helpful.

I'm looking around the kelp forests that surround the shallows, but I'm also looking around in that drop off at the cliffs. I'll probably find salt there.

Also, any advice on getting past the pufferfish? They always mob me before I can get anywhere near the thing they're popping out of.

Crash Fish can't turn for crap. The way to defeat them is to wait until they charge then swim at them, and past them.

They won't be able to turn around fast enough to chase you before they explode.

The suggestion above is good from Cougarific plus i go round the rocks or tunnels quick and they explode trying to go around them before they can get to you. Keep tight to the rocks when you hear them coming.

I can't see why you are posting this here though. This thread was about salt and cave sulfur.

Also, people have been spouting they wanted co-op for years, over and over but the pinned top topic on here is there will never be co-op.

Yer salt is around alot of places just outside starting zone. Especially on ocean floor just out.

There is salt all over the grassy plateaus with the sand sharks and the Reefback Leviathans.

what do you need the salt for i think i can help
