Play Subnautica multiplayer with your friends via a simple , easy-to-install-mod.
Hey there! Since Subnautica devs have decided NOT to release multiplayer for this incredible game. Someone else has taken the liberty upon themselves to make a multiplayer mod. It's slightly complicated to do (Ip's , router Ip's , command promts , port fowarding ect ect ) BUT...if you're interested in playing subnautica with your friends , follow these step by step instrucions on how to do so in this video.

We're you intending to link the video? If so, that's not what happened

as much as i love this mod, i wish people would stop crapping on the devs for not doing it.

these devs have been some of the most open, honest devs i have dealt with.

early on, they decided against mmo/co-op. they had their reasons and they stcuk with it and, in the end, made a great single player game.

as far as i can tell, the devs never said that it could not be done, only that it would take too much time and effort after already making the single player.

it has been other players that shouted it just is not possible.

When a single person who is not familiar with the game code can make a multiplayer mod in a reasonable time, i think the devs can make one too. Don't Starve was also single-player only for a long time, but the players always asked the devs to make a multiplayer mode, so they made one and released it as a second game.

never said they could or couldn't. neither did they. they did say it would have added a lot of time to the table and they didn't want to do that.

what i said is that they made a choice and stuck with it. they made a great game and they deserve credit for it.

people need to understand that they did not do anything wrong by not including multiplayer.

yes, even if people were asking for it.

Multi is overated, just like high gas prices.

People (young ones) like to shoehorn multiplayer/CoOp into pretty much every game that ever gets released. Social gaming has a place, I just don't believe it's here. It's bad enough seeing some of the cringey upvoted time capsules where they vomit end game items at you (I pretend they don't exist, but have played much less since they became a thing tbh).

I dont get why ppl want to play this game in coop. The best part of Subnautica is the constant sounds of something you cant see. Being constantly on edge that something is near you that try to take a bite out of you. For me (and that is only my personal opinion), someone else permanantly talking over TS would break the immersion and would make the game much less interessting. Again, only my personal opinion.
You dont need help with farming (this isnt ARK where you need to cut down a complete forest to build 4 walls and a roof) because nothing is really ressource heavy.

This is also something i dont get. There is no "endgame" in the classic sence. If you are a new player and get an MK3 module it wont help you in any way. If you dont know were to go, being able to go there matters nothing. If you are a vetaran and know the map inside out, it only speed`s up your game. Ion batteries/cell`s also dont break the game, they only prevent you from constantly going back and recharging, wich only let`s you explore longer. Again, a new player might enjoy a longer trip, a vetaran dont care much. And you can still throw everything you dont want into the void ;).
This is also only my personal opinion

Where in the OP's post was there any crapping on the devs? He simply said they chose not to add multiplayer, which is a simple statement of fact. Sensitive much?

Necroing a post almost a year old to call out a generalization

Typical dev response to hide greedy, lazy, uncaring truth...
"We would love to, but it would cost too much and take many months..."
One. Single. Mod. Author...
Does it alone in a couple of weeks.
"Here ya go guys, enjoy :)"

Where is this “weeks” coming from. It took two years to get the multiplayer mod running and it wasn’t even stable after that

Is it stable now? Last time when i build, my friend doesn't see what I build. Some sync errors (for example: i see the Reaper 5 meters above our base, my friend see the Reaper 40 meters right of the base..

No clue. I don’t follow the mod

No. People complained about it in the last few days. It still has the problems you describe.

Citing that mod as an example of how easy it is to add multiplayer is ironic. Instead, it demonstrates how hard it really is. If the devs delivered something as buggy as this, they would get roasted.
