Cyclops threats
What creatures is Cyclops currently vurnelable to? I read some threads but most of them are 1 year old :P I guess leviathans could wreck it but smaller stuff like armored sharks or this spooky octopus? I've just built one and I'm kind of affraid to use it :D

Ampeel, Crabsquid, Ghost Leviathan, Reaper Leviathan, Sea Dragon Leviathan

Sometimes Stalkers will notice but they deal no damage but also can drop teeth from biting the Cyclops

That’s it, those are the only creatures who really notice it actually exists

In my run-ins with Crabsquid in the Cyclops, they can temporarily shut it down, but they don't do any lasting damage to it.

Get the shield and you will be fine as long as you don't drain the batteries. So prepare for that too by making 12 extra powercells.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lost it. I've found this prehistoric acid cave with my Seamoth, so wanted to move whole my base there. I've turned everything to pieces, loaded all the stuff to cyclops, and half way to the caves part of aurora wreck decided to spawn in the middle of my ship. Now gonna learn some console commands

Ampeel and Crabsquid deal no damage to it as ive seen so far. Squid is generally weak it does like 7% damage per attack against PRAWN. Couldn't kill it with powa fist though.

This sulfur river area is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool. There's plenty of everything, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of uranium, etc. But no food and water :D

I made the experience that Crabsquids do deal damage against the Cyclops. However, the one that attacked me only dealt hull damage with the second attack. I guess the first just depleeted the overshield.

Ampeels and crabsquids can hurt the Cyclops, but usually the only real threats to the Cyclops itself are leviathans.

just a note the original post does say "vulnerable" to, so I'm going to mention Lava Larva. They may not deal physical damage, but they will suck power out of a cyclops fairly quickly if you aren't paying attention and get a bunch of them. First time I didn't know about them and wondered why I was losing 1 or 2% every couple of seconds.

The Lava Larva, as I see it, were made to be the solution to a problem they got themselves into.

They add an upgrade module that re-charges the Cyclops (and Prawn) with heat.
Then they make areas in the game that are hot everywhere, making them basically fully powered forever.
But they didn't want the player to actually have infinite energy.
So they created the lava larva to suck power while in the hot areas.

That's how I think it happened, anyways.
If the lava larva weren't in the game, the player would have no more energy troubles to worry about once they reached the hot areas of the game.

that's ridiculous though, mainly because you have to go into said hot area to get the.. kyanite? to make the thermal generators. Then once you have the thermal generators you need either 16 or 19 Larva (don't remember exact number) on your cyclops before they actually start affecting the power levels. It takes a bit to actually acquire that many Larva, so you still basically have infinite energy once you have the thermal generator down below in hot regions

It takes a lot of Lava Larvae (I think 10+) to outdrain a heat powered Cyclops though, and takes like 4-5 on the Prawn.

Lol i struggle with kyanite. I went to -1250 and havent see it. Does it drop from something or is it inside those tiny rocks?

Meh. As has been said, you'd need a lot of them to outdrain your power-supply if you have the thermal reactor-upgrades.

Also, with a repulsion-cannon, you can super-easily get rid of those parasites. And even the knife will make them flee.

It actually sticks out pretty much. It's blue and crystalline. There are drillable nodes and pickable single crystals all over the lava-zones.

Kyanite is around 1250-1300m deep. It's bright flourescent blue, so it's basically the most visible resource in the game. The majority of it is in deposit form, so you'll need to drill it.
