How to deal with ghost leviathans?
Hi all, recently go the the cyclops made the depth upgrade and went down to the lost river to explore. however nearly lost my whole cyclops to the ghost leviathan guarding the entranes even running on silent mode going slow rotor speed. Went back to the surface to make the shield upgrade, however now my second time down nearly got my clops trapped down there as the shield takes so much energy I nearly didnt get it back to the surface and still had to take a hit or two on the way out. Just curious what you guys think the optimal way of getting around, dealing with the ghost leviathans. Also my cyclops has a damaged piece at 0% that i cannot repair, is this normal and if so is it permanent

Silent running should work, maybe you accidentally hit it while moving, shield works also. Get the cyclops thermal reactor to recharge it. and use decoys if you have too. you should be able to repair it.

I have a rule with leviathans. If they leave me alone they get to live

There is a faint disk that comes out of your sub on the holo map on your right when you pilot it. Anything in that disk can hear you. Anything outside will leave you alone.

Here's another tip for power. There's creatures in the lava Zone that like to drain your power. When you go out exploring take all but one of your power shells out of the motor and store them in a locker. Lava larvae will get mad at you LOL. That is until you get the thermal reactor module.

The same way I dealt with every other hostile leviathan... Get out of the sub, aim a stasis shot to its face, a charged stasis shot to the face, dozens of hot knife wounds, more stasis, dozens more hot knife wounds, repeat... after about 3-4 cycles it dies and you can putter by safely for the rest of the game.

The leviathans are not hostile but are territorial. By careful when sneaking through their territory and things usually go well for everybody.
Killing them early on makes the late game empty and boring.

For the ones in the Grand Reef, just be careful to stay away from them. Those ones aren't hard to deal with, from what I've seen they stay mainly at the bottom. You can use silent running with the cyclops.

For the one in the Lost River, try to use silent running, and if they still attack you use the shield. Also, Ghost Leviathans don't seem to be as aggressive as other enemies. I don't think they try to constantly pursue you, so you can also try to just swim away from them. Be aware of it's position.

Also, in Crater's Edge, get away from the area then they will stop pursuing you.

Also, if power is a problem I recommend bringing extra Power Cells onboard, I have around 15 extra ones stored in a wall locker. With that amount of extra Power Cells, power barely become a problem. If you want, I heard there were also Ion Power Cells late game which give you 1000 fuel per Ion Cell.

Mainly, for the Lost River one, be aware of it's position and I recommend running if it goes near you. You'll get the Cyclops damaged, however once you get to a safe area you can easily repair it. It is possible a fire could occur, so I recommend bringing the fire suppression module which isn't too hard to get.
