Can't Upgrade Pronsuit
So my Step-Son and I have been playing Subnautica for awhile, but we took a few month break as I had some medical issues and he had some behavioural ones, but I am back to feeling better and he has earned the privilege to play video games again.

So we log back onto the game and need to increase the Pronsuites depth capacity so we can go further down the lava fields in search of the Lava Castle, but the game seems to be glitched and even though I can take upgrades in and out of the Suite it doesn't actually do anything. We also can't access storage or upgrades while it is docked on one of our bases.

Anyone know of a fix for any or all of these issues?

Thanks,
Servo and his 7.5 year old Son.

Hello,
You actually can't access neither the upgrades, nor the storage of the P.R.A.W.N Suit from the Moonpool, it is "intended".
I don't know what you're referring to when you say "it doesn't do anything": You can't stack depth modules : 2x Mk1 =/= 1x Mk2. You need to get a prawn depth module Mk2. (Also make sure it is meant for the PRAWN, as Seamoth and Cyclops modules are different).
Although MK1 module can get you to the thermal plant (the lava castle you're referring to).
To craft the MK1, you need the vehicle upgrade station, which is a module placed in the moonpool via the habitat builder.
The MK2 needs to be crafted on a modification station. I'll let you browse the wiki for further information concerning those modules.

P.S: please also note that the base depths are different per vehicle.
The base depth for the PRAWN Suit is 900m, which equals the Mk3 for the Seamoth, for example. Mk1 gets you to 1300m, and the Mk2 gets you to 1900m.

I never thought the P.R.A.W.N Moonpool Upgrade glitch was intended. I just thought it was a known bug.

The devs enabled access to the prawn in the moonpool in experimental and I can see why they left it off in stable. It works but it's silly and works much better in the cyclops.

How exactely is it more silly than upgrading the seamoth? I remember earlier versions when you could upgrade in the moonpool. Didn't seem silly to me.

Oh, it's not the upgrades that are odd, it's that while you can repair the prawn there too and access the cargo, the lid is covered by the grippy pads holding the prawn in place so there is no animation.
That part looks silly to me and I prefer to do it in the cyclops.

Sorry that I was unclear.

While I appreciate everyone's input on the Moonpool issue... what about the fact that I can't upgrade the Prawn at all right now. As in I open the Access panel while the Prawn suit is just resting on the ocean floor, I swap out an upgrade to allow it to go deeper. I hop in to the suit and the upgrade isn't active.

Really?!? Well bugger... that is what we were trying to do is go pas the 19k mark so that we can find the 'Lava Castle'.

We have been playing 'blind' for 95% of the game, so I finally had to break down and look where to find the schematic of the Ion Power Sorce was and all I could find was 'Lava Castle', but my Son and I love the Prawn, so we wanted to bring that with us.

Thanks for the help all!

You only need to get to 1300 meters for the lava castle. The material you can find there will allow you to get to 1700 mters which is more than deep enough.

Hm. Is it the right upgrade? Does it pop out? Do you have a picture?

Dock it im the cyclops or even on the ground somewhere. Both works

the only way u r going to get a seamoth to that depth, is cheats, or the multimod. which buffs the depth upgrades
