Bone Shark outside my base. How do I get rid of it?

What else is there to say? It is hanging out under the moonpool. The Seamoth takes a big hit from these things.

Is there a way to get them to leave? I've never tried attacking them in hand to hand combat, I asume they are dangerous that way. Right?

Well, the most direct solution would be to stasis rifle it and stab it until it stops twitching, but if you dont have a stasis rifle, you might have to lure it away, using the seamoth as bait. They seem to hate mine and chase it a good distance.

Great. There is something maybe.

So the stasis rifle will work of flarger creatures?

I could never kill one of those Stalkers. For that matter, except for those plants that shoot darts, have never killed anything.

So Bone Sharks can be killed?

everything can be stasis rifled (except the sea emperor) and killed

Alternatively use a repulsion cannon positioned from below and watch them fly away.

Always a good idea. Never leave home without a Repulsion Cannon!

There's also the possibility of using the Seamoth Perimeter Defense System to zap the Bone Shark away. But that bit of tech is a far ways off compared to other options.

Very true!

I suppose you could do a reconnaisance of the area before setting up base in an infested area just to be on the safe side and not have to worry about bonesharks at all until then.

propulsion cannon and some acid mushrooms....or copper / gold / titanium deposits.

Breed crashfish in an alien containment, gather up all but two of them and while holding the propulsion cannon tap "F" and 'load' in one of them.

Try not to hit your base when you shoot them.

It might not be as effective as some (read "all") of the other ideas here, but it's a hell-a lot more fun.

There are much bigger fish to worry about, and statis rifle is really a gem for some of the later beasties. Maybe I've just grappled too many reapers, but my advise is to take the advise above, and carry a couple of med packs while you get used to thinning out some of the weaker predators with a knife. This game is out to scare you, and bone sharks are the least of anyone's worries here. You gotta get out there and face what lies beneath. Bone sharks can definately be killed. I would add one thing, if you really want it gone, knife it, then chase it down and finish it.

I love this idea, never thought of it myself! It does sound fun.

Plant a few tiger plants around your base. They'll scare off or eventually kill any annoying fish.

Have you tried a vortex torpedo?

Just make sure they can't get an angle to hit your base, because if they shoot something and miss....Holes everywhere.

That't the thing, it showed up at my lifepod, the place I built my first base. It's kinda home and I just don't want to move just because a Bone Shark moved into the neighborhood.
