Is it possible to kill anything with the knife?

Obviusly combat was not the intended way to resolve conflict in this game.
However I find it weird the only was to kill stuff is to cook and eat it.

You can kill basically anything with a knife if youre determined enough

yes all creatures can be killed with a knife, but its a very slow way of killing them, using a combo of the knife and other weapons can be very affective.

Well you technically don't kill the fish for food. You actually do something more horrible than that, you pick them up with your hands and cook them.... alive.

Not so sure. I ran into a Boomarang in my SeaMoth and apparently killed it as I went back and picked it up then took it home and cooked it.

thx turns out A cave crawler died in about 3 hits everything else take more time than its worth
since 1 hit usually sacres them off

Stasis Rifle to freeze them then hit them until they are dead.

I use the knife to kill the cave crawlers. As mentioned above 3 hits will do the job. 2 hits if you upgrade to the thermo blade.

Shuttlebugs were not fully finished before release - don't know if they're killable (they're certainly not pick-upable or edible).

Need? nuthing want EVERYTHING epecialy the laviathan that ate my ride next to the Aurora and the bitters

I wanted to kill a Stalker that I didn't like but couldn't. Then I noticed the Gasopod's expell poison gas when pissed, so I lured the Stalker to the Gasopod & attached the Gaso to release the gas. The gas killed the Stalker & I killed the Gasopod.
I thought that was a pretty neat way to get some fish (sadly, can't do anything with them once killed. I thought it might be like Monsterhunter but it's not. :) ) Now if I could only lure other fish to the Gasopod it would make fishing so much easier. :)

Well thats what happens when you take your ride with you to the Aurora.
All you had to do was swim there.

You can kill EVERYTHING with knife. But you might need hundreds cut to kill ghost leviathan or seadragon leviathan.
Though my method is freeze whatever you want to kill, then drop dozens of gas pod. This method kills everything really fast, except seadragon leviathan cuz you can't freeze it.
