How can I get Kyanite? Hint please

I know Kyanite is in the Lava Zone but it's deeper than my prawn can go. I need Kyanite to make the module for the prawn to go deeper. I need to use to prawn to harvest the Kyanite. How is it possible to do it?

You need a Prawn Suit with drill arm.

There is one outcropping of Kryanite (at least) within the safe depth of your suit. You can swim down to it to verify.

You can craft the Depth Module Mk1 which doesn't need kyanite and lets you go deep enough to find kyanite.

Yah I actually found 2 small ones (3x Kyanite) and 1 large one (6x Kyanite?) above 1,400 on my last run.

Also, you may not need the Drill Arm if you can make it to the Lava Castle without going below 1,400m. There are some small, loose Kyanite crystals in the castle cave network.

I once found Kyanite on a reefback.. don't think thats normal though

Thanks for the replies. I just figured it out.I was skipping the first depth module for the Prawn. I was just looking at the Mod station and trying to make the MK2 first.

You can find some in a Time Capsule if you're lucky (like me).

That's just bizarre. How'd the Reefback get down there/how'd a creature from down there get Kyanite up to the surface zones?

Have similar problem - can't find any small nodes of Kyanite only large one deeper as +950m so can't use Prone Suit (MK1 900m) to mine it ... looked from both side access to inactive lava zone ( Giant Cove Tree / Collapsed alien containment )

You do not need kyanite to upgrade the prawn to survive the depths needed to get Kyanite. Craft the first upgrade in the moonpool, not the upgrade at the modification station.

You gotta have a PRAWN suit with Depth module mark 1 and a Drill Arm and you go down the path of the Lost River down to the lava zone. Having a Grappling Arm is adviced. So is Jump Jet upgrade but you can if you have Grappling Arm

I got by with jump jet. Though I did use Cycops to bring the damn prawn down to the lava zone entrance.

Deepest I found Kyanite is on the border's edge of 900m. Meaning you can get that low in the lava zone without going into Crush Depth. Just mind your depth and be ready to jet out of areas you drop too low in.
