Is there no way to remove stuff from inventory with xbox controller?

I just got the game and I've been playing with the xbox controller but I have been unable to figure out a way how to remove stuff from inventory. Clueless what to gather I just grabbed some plant but now my inventory is filled with it as well as the chest and I still don't know how to remove it.

You can't drop items inside your base or lifepod (or Cyclops). Outside there should be a button that drops items. On mouse/keyboard it's right click on an item in your Inventory to drop it.

Ah, that's probably why, as I was indeed trying to find it in the lifepod. Thanks. Yeah I'm using the htc vive so I can't easily switch from the controller to keyboard. Using the xbox one is already impractical enough as it is.

It's right trigger to drop a selected object, with your inventory open, on my xbox controller. Just be careful, you can drop anything including tools :/
