My out door wet bar / patio
I mean it stood to reason I could build a multi-purpose room above sea level. Surround it in glass with a glass tunnel and hatch out to an above sea level platform.
make solar panel fencing around the edges...move the floating construction thing up to the side...all was perfect.

Then to place the bar table, couple of chairs...maybe add a vending machine and coffee maker and some counters and voila...sunny after noon soaking in the radiation.

Sadly was a failure...you cannot place furniture on a platform...:steamfacepalm:

***how come I can post but not reply?***
and no I do not have steamguard

...found the side hatch just above sea level meant I could just step in and out from the platform and reach the hatch from in the water at the same time...

But ontop of the multi-purpose room might work....it's the right 'height level' due to stacked rooms.

Now I need to rush home and check!

You can find the items you first scanned to be able to build the furniture pieces in the first place and with a propulsion cannon move them (try not to shoot them, that doesn't help :steamfacepalm:) to new places. Most useful thing I've ever found for the propulsion cannon arm on the prawn was carrying these things long distance to where I wanted them. I then used the handheld one for placment.

Yeah, this is an oversight if you ask me. We should be able to build patios (or place cosmetic items outside of seabases in general). Also, please provide us with an alternative to the airlock when we're building stuff above water. The Bulkhead would do nicely, including the option to leave it open.

OP, if you place a corridor off one of the highest stacked MP room. with a top mounted hatch, and some creative zig zgging while jumping, you can get on top of your above surface MP room.

And that let's you place furniture outside the base?

No, to place 4 symmetricaly placed solar panels.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I still don't see how this is realted to OPs post. Was he complainging about not being able to place the solar panels the right way, or about not being able to place furniture outside?
