How hot is a lava geyser?
My base is in the Lost River, which is really cold, but there is a lava geyser in the kush/bulb zone near my base. I am thinking about putting a Thermal Plant in the lava of a lava geyser, but I don't know how hot it will be, therefore I don't know how much energy I would get... So pelase, someone just tell me the temp.!

your SeaMoth should have a thermometer on it. You could tell that way. It’s gonna depend on how close you are and such (also once built the plant will tell you the temp.)

If it's pumping out what looks like smoke/steam (so, all of them :steammocking:) it will be hot enough.

Both your seamoth and prawn have built in thermometers and once build the generator itself will let you know by the screen on its side.
And if you're not getting enough power, just build another, or something else, until you are.

I'm not sure if all lava geysers are the same temp. I have a thermal plant in around 70 degrees C, but maybe they get hotter. If you pilot your Prawn or Seamoth near the heat source, you can see the temp with your instruments.

I know... Let me explain, my base is in the Lost River, in between a hole guarded by a Ghost Leviahtan that leads to the lava castle, and the damaged Research Facility. I don't want to travel in my cyclops (its too deep for the seamorg), because it will get attacked by the leviathan... I guess I should just try to build down into the hole where the lava castle is becuase there are pools of lava in there... Thanks, though!

Which is a good sign that you're doing it right. Also experiment with power transmitters. I built in the Cove Tree area and have a single transmitter feeding power from a vent on the side of the cavern all the way to the tree. Not sure what the exact measurements are but I was stunned that one was enough.

Thanks dude
Strange....... Every time I try to put a thermal plant on a geyser and connect it to my base using power transmitters, it never works.

It's not terribly intuitive. The first transmitter has to be VERY close to the thermal plants. After that it will stretch a huge ways (usually). You also do not necessarily need to place a 'reciever' on your base. The power will just jump to whatever part of your base is closest.

Yeah that's strange. I have one base that is so far from the thermal vents I had to use 6 transmitters to get the power to it.

Yeah so my base is like 100-400 meters away from the lava castle, and its REALLY close to the active lava zone (the entrance that is closest to the aurora), so I might build thermal plants on the lava if I can and build power transmitters, making the power go to my base. If I build 5 thermal plants, then if my math is right, I SHOULD get around 5 energy units per second, and 1,250 power storage in total. That should be enough...
