Even if you are not inside the seamoth, the reaper will sometimes grab it and smash it to pieces.
If you want to duke it out with a reaper, use your prawn suit with a normal "hand" arm and the grappling hook. Or just swim with a stasis gun & knife.
Yes, I know better that to go after the reaper in my seamoth. I was refering to getting caught by the darn thing and staring at it face to face.
Ugly, scary thimg isn't it? lol
Unless it has changed, anytime you drive the seamoth around the aurora you run the risk of this happening unless you manage to get the timing right. I got caught on the left side a couple of times.
I was watching a guy on youtube doing one of those instructional videos and I kept saying to myself and the screen. "Don't go that way. The reaper will get you." He went that way. He heard the reaper but managed to get buy it.
Scary.

Or no stasis rifle, just skillz.
Later I just wanted to know whether or not a Reaper could destroy your Seamoth in one shot, or if you always had a chance to escape. Provided your Seamoth is at 100% when the Reaper grabs you, there always seems to be an escape opportunity before you hit 15-20% hull integrity.
Of course he also destroyed my seamoth, because he can.
I did have one time where I got confused and went the wrong way and got caught before I got away. That much damage took the grabe and one shake of the head to go poof.
