Facing the reaper
So who has had the reaper grabe their seamoth? Scary huh, to face the Reaper.

Brawling with reapers inside your seamoth (or with the seamoth near by) is a terrible idea mate. Just a couple of bites will turn that seamoth into scrap metal.
Even if you are not inside the seamoth, the reaper will sometimes grab it and smash it to pieces.

If you want to duke it out with a reaper, use your prawn suit with a normal "hand" arm and the grappling hook. Or just swim with a stasis gun & knife.

I think a full health seamoth can survive a single reaper grab! I mean I wouldn’t recommend it cause it can scare the hell out of you but at some point you got to board the Aurora. just repair the seamoth ASAP/before risking another attack!

Don't fear the reaper.

It's thrown my seamoth on to the sea floor and dsetroyed it TWICE - right next to the Aurora .... found myself floating outside with the darn thing, wondring what happened, then saw chunks of my former seamoth below . . . .

Yup. I try to keep it at full health and I got grabbed once. Didn't see the darn thing and it grabed me and I was in it's face. It's really intense.

Yes, I know better that to go after the reaper in my seamoth. I was refering to getting caught by the darn thing and staring at it face to face.

shoot it got me and shook my seamoth around and the only thing I could think is I wish it was bigger and I hope I can get away to repair my seamoth before it catches and kills me.

Unless it has changed, anytime you drive the seamoth around the aurora you run the risk of this happening unless you manage to get the timing right. I got caught on the left side a couple of times.

I was watching a guy on youtube doing one of those instructional videos and I kept saying to myself and the screen. "Don't go that way. The reaper will get you." He went that way. He heard the reaper but managed to get buy it.

I got grabbed inside the Aurora last night. I was just leaving the ramp area in my seamoth and a reaper got me. Never saw that before, some glitch I suppose. But it latched on, screamed and shook me then I bailed out thinking it would kill me. I am playing hardcore, but once I bailed, it let go and my seamoth was fine.

wow. now my thought that that area is safer than the left side is gone. :)

Scary.
Stasis rifle and a knife. That's all you ever need to never feel scared again.

Or no stasis rifle, no seaglide, just a scanner:

I've done it intentionally on a few occasions. The first was to test the efficacy of the Seamoth's perimeter defense upgrade (very efficacious).

Later I just wanted to know whether or not a Reaper could destroy your Seamoth in one shot, or if you always had a chance to escape. Provided your Seamoth is at 100% when the Reaper grabs you, there always seems to be an escape opportunity before you hit 15-20% hull integrity.

Hah, I troll the Reaper all the time with my Seamoth. Wait for it to latch on and give a zap. It lets go in a hurry. Even have plenty if time to jump out, repair then get back in before it recovers and decides to try again. Fun game to play with the Reaper. Never died to it yet.

I just got eaten by a random ghost in Treaders path.

Of course he also destroyed my seamoth, because he can.

Yup. the few times I got attacked at 100% I managed to run away and fix it. Never go into a suspected area w/ your seamoth damaged.

I did have one time where I got confused and went the wrong way and got caught before I got away. That much damage took the grabe and one shake of the head to go poof.
