Subdrinkwater.
I must spend 50% of my game making and drinking water. Maybe I shouldn't have gone with survival. It would be much better if water had the same clock as food.

Minor Spoiler: You'll find blueprints for a still suit and water purifier soon enough. Then the more irksome aspects of survival will be behind you.

besides it makes sence that we drink more water than eat food just like in real life you drink more often espically if you are swimming around in salt water most of the time. got to keep hydrated.

I set up two water filtration systems in my base. I have 6 containers full of large bottles of water. Water becomes a non-issue soon enough,

Water distillation plants will produce +50 water bottles and salt for curing fish. Once you have one of those you'll be set. The only thing that beats it is a grow bed with marblemelons.

Heat blade and Water Filtration system will be your best friend, Heat blade lets you cook fish on the go and water filtration system gives you 50oz water bottles along with salt to make water. Also the still suit lets you reclaim water from your body so you don't need to drink as much.

Instead of chasing bladderfish, make water from salt and coral. I forget the recipe but you get better quality water than you do from the fish. Gather all the salt you see until you have a nice stockpile, since you need it for both curing fish and making water.

Once you find out how to grow melons it becomes less dramatic, since you can fill up on food and water from a few garden plots every time you visit your base instead of spending time chasing fish. Melons are too big to carry enough for a long trip, though. If you're going to explore for a while, there's no way around needing a few inventory slots for cured fish and water bottles.

Every time while wearing the stillsuit think of that "reclaimed water" as pee.. :D People can survive on urine for some time, also helpful in this sort of situation:

I don't mean to be ignorant but driving a fng honda CRV on a road like that? With ONE bottle of water? and friggin beer? what the hell does a person need beer for, not supposed to be driveing and even the most uneducated person knows alcohol dehydrates you. I took the local's warnings to heart on my trip to vegas when I toured the surrounding dessert areas, I had a cooler full of water and two whole cases in the trunk at all times.

I've heard of more people getting lost like that because they follow the GPS blindly, not like the good'ol days where you used a paper map and had to plan ahead of time where you will be going.

I hate to admit it but I have personally sufferred from map dumbmification as I like to call it. GPS's are nice but one should ALWAYS know how to read a map. When I was touring red Rock Cany on my Vegas trip I had done some small exploratory forrays on the various side roads I found, but one just kept going to a distant mountain range, decided to turn back and a japanese family in a minivan behaind me just kept on going. I felt bad for leading them to temptation so I notified the park rangers where this happened, hope they got back, I'll always wonder.
