Is the Stillsuit in game anymore?
The wiki stills shows it as a possible item to craft/etc, but I have not found anything for it in game.

Yup, it is. Got mine last night.
Found it in a wreck near Sea Treders Path and Mushroom Forest.

It's very rare now - I didn't find one at all in my last playthrough, and still haven't found it in my current playthrough.

Not sure why they made it so difficult to find, it's not game-breakingly OP or anything, just a nice quality-of-life upgrade, and you still have to make some hard choices about whether or not to use it (e.g. vs. Reinforced Dive Suit).

It is a late game ugrade you know.
Cougarific Jan 29, 2018 @ 9:48am
It is *now* but for the majority of Early Access it was obtainable right from the start of the game (no unlock required). I used it on most of my early playthroughs and as I said, never found it so powerful as to require it to be gated behind a hard-to-find Databox.

Sid Meier famously said that good gaming is about making difficult choices. Making the Still Suit a late game upgrade removes one of those choices from the majority of playtime. Gating it makes the game less good IMHO.

I like to play a minimalist style of game, and be as self sufficient as possible. I build one base for the whole game, and try to live out of my Seamoth as much as I can. I only build the Cyclops and Prawn for the areas/missions that require them. The stillsuit + thermoblade made a great combo back then, but I'm almost completely done with the game on this play through and haven't seen the stillsuit yet. I'm kind of disappointed, since a stillsuit seems like exactly the kind of thing you'd want earlier in a survival situations, not later (after you have water filtration tech, gardens, etc). Clearly, the folks at Alterra have their priorities screwed up.

I haven't found it yet and I've been digging through wrecks at the mountain, the dunes, and the sea treader path. Kind of a let down.

Personally I don't think it should be this late game. You have to switch to the reinforced dive suit for the end game, the still suit has to be before that so it logically would be a nice upgrade from he radiation suit, but being so hard to find by the time you unlock it you only get to use it, at most, for the lost river.

kind of a waste.

I found the Stillsuit long after the Reinforced one. I have a constant source of water from other modifications in my base, it made the Stillsuit a useless item. Personally I wished the developers would have given suits upgrade options. One suit that can be upgraded with multiple features.

i have every technology unlocked, appart from the stillsuit. i have build the neptune and everything. i think this might be a bug as i get titanium from datapads ...

Before you interact with a Databox, you can read what it holds. If it's a blueprint you already got, then it'll tell you.

I kinda used to like the old "progression". You start off scavenging bladderfish and salt piles to get your water consumption under control, then you manage to make the stillsuit and that helps out your water needs, but puts a little more focus on getting enough to eat (which is fine, because by that point you've probably got a gravtrap or are otherwise better equipped to feed yourself), and then you get a nice base going with a proper power supply and water filtration machines, so you can pack away the stillsuit and bring out the reinforced suit for more protection and to advance towards the lategame areas.

To update my posts here, I finally found it in my playthrough, in the wreck at the eastern foot of the Mountain Island.

It was literally in the *last* place I looked.

Well, I mean, it'd be a little strange if you kept looking after you'd found it...

Ayy lmao, I like you.

Yah lol but by that I mean there are 5 big wrecks, it was in the wreck I always leave 'til last due to its proximity to Reaper territory. If I find everything I need in the other wrecks I usually just skip that one (and the one in the Dunes because SO MANY REAPERS and they're all very cranky).
