Question about Placing Battery Charger on Cyclops
Is the self-sufficient technique still works? AFAIK, it was patched and no longer works. But I've seen youtubers placing their batter and power cell chargers inside the cyclops and charge from there. So I was wondering if this feature came back and I'm just not aware of this or they just don't know it was patched?

Yeah, They changed the power consumption dramatically. Just engines and lights last a VERY long time, Abilities still take a ton of power though. All battery and powercell charging is at a 1:1 ratio regardless of where its charged. To charge a 200 energy powercell, its 200 energy from the source to do so.

It was patched out a while ago

They patched it so you lose energy doing that now, yeah.

They did add a new mod, the thermal reactor for the cyclops (With a looooong road to getting anywhere near working order. They one time made it so ion cells took 300 minuts to recharge when parked over lava, then ported it to live).

But you need Kyanite for the thermal cyclops reactor mod, so you won't be getting to use that until either you're prepping to beat the game anywayss, or you're using a wiki/past experience to grab it early.

It seemed to work for me. Constantly from 80% to 99% battery life without a problem.
But it's easier just to make a spare 6 power cells for emergency use.

Yah. That's what I know that this doesn't work anymore and we can get a thermal ractor mod for Cyclops in the late game phase. But in some recent youtube lets plays from several youtubers show that they still do this. So I was like 'hey it's not supposed to work anymore, right?'.

So it's still pointless to fabricate chargers inside Cyclops then. Glad I didn't do it. Thanks for comfirming.

Still good to have a battery charger for tools, but yeah. No infinite looping or anything, and the seamoth and prawn both recharge just by being docked so no need to have a powercell charger.
