What happened to all other survivors?
I mean yeh we see that their pods are destroyed when we get there, but they sent out distress calls first, so they didn't die during landing. So they must have moved away? I mean we can imagine that they all got eaten, but really? They have the same chances to survive as us, surely some must have also made it? Do we get to see them later in the game?

They're all dead. The various PDAs you find will tell your their fates, but each and every one of them died.

or did they? [ 'X files' music]

it's because of 3 factors: the enviroment or the warpers, and the Khaar (aka carar)

one of the devs, and i forget who, said that the chances of surviving that crash were incredibly slim, your pod was just extremely lucky because it jettisoned at just the right time

I think what didn't kill them like the crash itself and the dire situations/locations they found themselves I think it was more the warpers. A radio message you get once seems to be a transmission it picked up and goes something like "targets unaccounted for: 1" in a robotic voice, which I assume means you. So I think what killed or nearly killed some, the rest were finished off by warpers or other larger creatures. I just want to know why we never see bodies, unless they were eaten.

I think there's only two pods that were damaged during the landing. The rest survived the landing, although only two others actually survived long enough to leave their pods. If anything I suspect the player's survival has more to do with their pod landing in the shallows.

The people aboard Lifepod 6 died after a flare ignited the fuel line.
Jochi Khasar (aboard Lifepod 13) died on impact.
The inhabitant(s) of Lifepod 4 became Reaper chow.
The "doctor" in Lifepod 12 died due to illness.
One of the two people in Lifepod 2 drowned.
CTO Yu (of Lifepod 2) and Commander Keen (Lifepod 19) both survived long enough to reach the rendez-vouz point. From there they tried to reboard the Aurora, but were killed by unknown causes there.
Everyone else was probably taken by the Warpers.

Game's pretty clear that they were murdered by Warpers. For all the (IMHO undeserved)
attention that reaper leviathans get, Warpers are pretty clearly our primary antagonist in this game.

Also keep in mind the main character gets knocked out cold in the landing and wakes up 3 hours later.
Yes, everyone died in 3 hours and you pick up the pods automated transmissions.

Wait, if the warpers got everyone, aren't they only supposed to attack those that are infected? And we know from personal observation on ourselves that it takes much more than just 3 hours to get infected...
Plus what warpers around the crash site anyway? They are all much deeper..

Warpers didn't get everyone, some died of other causes.

Best PDA voice log in the game IMHO. Chilling.

They could've made an "introductory cutscene" at the Aurora entrance zone if they would've let the player see another survivor in the distance who is waving them over only to get grabbed and swallowed by the Reaper Leviathan. End it all with the PDA's AI saying "Warning: Do not approach this obviously carnivorous creature", and you have a reason to despair, panic, and smirk at the same time.

Fauna destroyed them. The remaining ones that survived the elements, the Warpers hunted them down and killed them.

Doesn't the PDA say 8 hr + T at the start? Which I am assuming means eight hours since touchdown.
Here’s the best I can theorize:

Lifepod 2: CTO Yu made it to the floating island. The unnamed crewman with her probably died during the 500 meter ascent. My guess is that he either drowned or got intercepted and killed by the Ghost Leviathan that likes to hang out a couple of hundred meters over the pod’s general area.

Lifepod 3: My best guess is either Stalkers or Bonesharks got them after their Seaglide failed. Stalkers would naturally surround them since they landed in the northern kelp forest. I say Bonesharks because the pod is fairly close to the Underwater Islands.

Lifepod 4: The unnamed crewman in this pod likely was consumed by a Reaper Leviathan as not only do they patrol that area, his PDA mentioned that one tried eating the pod. We can assume his plan with Creature Decoys failed.

Lifepod 6: The idiot passenger caused a lethal explosion by holding a lit flare too close to the fuel line of the pod, killing both people inside.

Lifepod 7: The guy in this pod most likely got eaten by Bonesharks as he went to gather materials for his pod’s faulty fabricator.

Lifepod 12: Danby most likely died from the Khaara bacterium (whether by the infection itself or by Warpers maintaining the quarantine is up in the air). Alternatively, he may have drowned or gotten killed by Bonesharks or Ampeels.

Lifepod 13: The PDA and radio signal indicate that Jochi Khasar died when the lifepod crashed onto the planet.

Lifepod 17: Ozzy mentions a “grim looking snake-thing” trying to eat through the lifepod’s hull. The pod’s location (Western Grassy Plateaus next to a Jellyshroom entrance) indicates this creature was either a Crabsnake or Reaper Leviathan. I personally think it was a Reaper due to Crabsnakes being more territorial rather than full-on aggressive and that the pod’s location is close to the Dunes, a known Reaper hotspot.

Lifepod 19: Second Officer Keen managed to make it to the Floating Island and meet up with CTO Yu. His last PDA mentions being intercepted by a leviathan-class predator on their way to the wreck of the Aurora. Since the Floating Island is south of the Aurora, my guess is that they ran afoul of the Reaper that likes to creep around the engines. CTO Yu was likely eaten by said Reaper while Keen probably died either by predation, exhaustion (and subsequent drowning), exposure to the elements, or radiation poisoning from getting so close to the crash site.
