Do Reapers Move?
Last time I played this Reapers pretty much just stayed where they spawned unless they happened to chase you to a different area which they would then stay in. This is a problem... I dont want to feel like Im safe anywhere but the shallows. I should have to be careful and on guard at all times. The best part of this game is the anxiety of possibly running into a huge monster anytime you dare to go deeper. That should be a possiblity. Not this: "Well there is a reaper over there.. thats noted now I'll just steer clear of there." And eventually you've mapped out where they all are and never have to worry. It should be unpredictable.

Is this still the case?

Yeah, when you know where the leviathans are, you know where they are

They are basicly gatekeepers. So they stay in a location unless provoked.

i know where all the leviathans are, so i can have an entire playthrough without seeing a single one.

They rarely leave their general locations unless you scared them to moving another part.

I had 1 that was usually in the lower areas of the gun platform but after several fights and it running away, it now hangs around the mushroom trees near the gun.

All the Leviathans have fixed spawn points/patrols.

But they aren't your main concern. Warpers are the real problem. And they spawn all over the place.

Hi! Bad times
Lol ouch. I always kind of imagined it they werent able to go into the shallows at all. I know people had issues with them spawning into the shallows back in e.a. thats no fun for anyone.

The answer to that is yes and no... If you do not provoke a reaper out of it's patrol zone, no it will circle listlessly, roaring to it's hearts content and eating any other fish that move in it's zone - I watch one eat a sandshark - that was amusing. however, if you should provoke it by straying even a little into it's zone of control - it will follow you out and make a new one around the "break off" point. I had one under the Aurora "entrance area" due to an unfortunate incident with a cat.

Yes, be careful, they can be kited and re-leashed.. and saved this way.

I've noticed that when you fight a Reaper, at a certain point (I think after so much damage taken), it will turn and flee. That's how mine ended up moving from behind the Aurora over towards my base, where it then noticed my Seamoth and focused in on that, he won that fight against my unpiloted moth but lost the war :peeperfish::lifepod::peeperfish:

So I too have gotten a reaper stuck in the shallows, is this intended or a glitch? regardless, its verry annoying. I guess its cool if they roam around, but the shallows should be excluded from this function.

if they stray away after chasing you, they should go back to the "cell" they came from imo

Nope, If you break the patrol zone and kite them to a new location they WILL create a new patrol zone in that location after you break off the attack. (or they do). Yes, it is built that way in the code. It pays to be cautious around reapers, most everything else is just annoying.

I shocked and rammed one that surprised me (I know I can't outrun them so figured I may as well give it a shot). They seemed to not like that and ran off.

I don't seem to have any, not seen any, unless they're invisible, been to the places where they are supposed to be and they aint there.
