First Playthrough - Stasis Rifle Time Capsule

like the title says, this is my first time playing. I'm still in the very early game I think (don't even have a radiation suit or seaglide made yet), so this time capsule discovery is worrying me. I found one pretty close to my escape pod and found a Stasis Rifle inside. Will this ruin the game for me? Will it trivialize every encounter? Is this a bug, should I be getting high tech items this early?

The stasis rifle really is just a prevention of death, that being said the fact it can stop anything in the game does make it VERY strong. If it bothers you, throw it somewhere.

It's a topic of ongoing debate. Some say Time Capsules really unbalance the game, others say if you find them too unbalancing, just don't use them.

I never use a Stasis Rifle anyway so personally I'd leave it laying where I found it. The fun of the game comes from using your skills and smarts to outmaneuver and outwit the creatures IMHO. All the hi-tech items never even get built (except the Propulsion Cannon, which stays in a locker after exploring the Aurora).

No single thing will break the game, but it's still something that takes a bit of looking around to find and make. It's nothing all that great, but it's just another story of the Time Capsules giving you something pretty useful and sequence breaking the game a bit. Really wish the devs would just let the players disable them from the start.
