Where to find the beacon?
Hey guys, im currently so in love with subnautica and are trying to build my first base right now. My only current problem that i have, is that i just now realise that you cant attach a signal to your base like to the lifepot or to your seamoth. And i think i know the solution: beacons! But here is the problem.

From a previous run (since i play in hardcore mode unfortunatly i have to...restart the game from time to time :D ) i had easly found the pieces that you need in my first game, but now, at game number 3 i have already played 7 hours and didnt even find a single piece.

I even went so far an looked up at the wiki (a think that i didnt do before, since in my opinion it destroys the fun and the feeling of achievement for discovering something new) and i saw that the beacon pieces are supposed to be at the grassy plateus (the bioms with the red grass) and the safe shallows...the start biom. And even now 7 or more hours into the game i havent even found a single piece of them so far, and most of the time i was in exactly this two bioms, so i dont understand how i couldnt find them until now.

So my question is, if their is a definetly location, like a wreck where you can find them? Because as much as i love to discover stuff on my own, the beacon is such a fundamental object and since i am now planning to go deeper into the sea while i still havent found it in the 2 bioms that i am now leaving behind...i fear that if i dont ask now here in the forum, that i have to play my whole playthrough without them, and especially when you found interesting caveentrences or have multiple under water bases, finding everything manuelly is becoming really really tough.

Thanks for your help and dont get lost in the deep :)

I can't think of anywhere it is guaranteed, sorry.

All i can advise is, when you are checking out wrecks, make sure you remember to check inside all those little crates too.

My latest game, I found beacons Safe Shallows, Grassy Plateaus, and Kelp Forest wrecks.

For the hundredth time guys, fragment spawns are mostly random. Just because someone found them at one location *does not* guarantee you'll find them there as well.

That said, general locations (i.e. what biome you find them in) are tied to the tech level you're expected to be at by the time you need them. Since you need Beacons right away, you're most likely to find them in one of the starting areas (Safe Shallows, Creepvines, etc.).

I also found it on the safe shallows. The first thing i unlocked, btw. I have seen parts again in the grassy plateaus, near the crash with the big part of the ship (near lifepod 7 if i'm not wrong)

sadly i still could not find any parts of them, i think that is is a rare bug in some playtroughs, since i could find the bacon in my first two attempts without problems. Luckly i found a way around this problem since i now use the cameras from the scan-room as "markers" but i think it would still be nice if the developer could take a look at the distribution of every parts so that they will not miss again like in my current game.
