and 2, the time scale is increased. so 1 game day is supposed to reflect 1 real life day. If you watch your food bar, it takes roughly 7 in-game days for it to go down.
cheers.
Humans CAN survive that long without food etc.
But these humans are not swiming non stop, carrying a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of stuff around to ensure their survival and build stuff, etc like our char is dooing.
Do you think during a non stop workout you won´t be in need of food?
It allways baffles me when people come up with such vaccum statistics and want to apply them to completly different scenarios.
Well and it baffles me when people with no real life experience come out and talk about stuff they do no understand.
I have been working as an aid develoment helper in Africa (Burkina Faso) and I have been in natural disaster areas. People are able to work and do heavy lifting for multiple days with very little food intake. The human body has energy reserves for that.
Yes you will be hungry and weaker and generally p*****d and angry because you've nothing to eat, but you do not need to eat 5 times a day to keep yourself from fainting.
What do you think the bottom poor workers in india get for food every day? Not much, I can tell you that.
And do you really think if you do not eat for one day, you will just fall over and die? How many people do you see die from starvation every day? Or from dehydration?
Also, the time argument is bullsh*t because you're still swimming and moving in real world time. It's only that the day-night cycle is extremely fast.
See little on this how it works you burn calories you get hungry. I can be lazy and eat one meal on a day off. But I can take another day off and ride my bike for 12 miles, and eat 3 fat meals and still lose weight as I burned that many calories that day. Child this is why we eat more while active your burning calories you can live for 40+ days sure if you just lay there like a vegatbale, but you active like you would be in this game you would be hunced over wit hunger pains by lunch time if you skipped breakfast.
And GOJO I call BS again on the aid worker ♥♥♥♥ you have to have stockpiles of calarlies aka fat stores to do that, adn its still not healthy to do for days on end. Also those people tend to get hurt and have ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ life spans from malinutration. They also eat high calorie meals, might be one meal but its like 3k or more empty or not calories. Stop freaking googling BS crap, go enlist you learn first hand how it really works just marching glorfied walking for 2 hours with half the ♥♥♥♥ you could carry in this gam on you back and you will be having hunger pains. And also you pushing your self harder then those people in africa yet again sure they do heavy lifting but swiming constalntly and you don't sleep in game, so it might well be 24 hours a day, yeah 5 meals is about right. Don't like it get a damn mini sub you burn less calories.
I mean christ in boot I must burned 5k calories a day in the feild. I was eating MREs two tiems a day that well over a thousand callories a meal, and I still lost weight every long stent in feild training. I mean I was being served at least one meal a day rice and gravy as empty calorie filler, and I still could lose 5 lbs in a week in the feild of fat. When I got out of boot the last 2 week excecise in feild alone I lost 9 lbs of fat, and I was already pretty lean by then.
Yes I did that, but now the game is way too easy. Although the exploration is nice with the beautiful environment.
Now I do the high calorie work outs for lesuire of sorts to keep myself in shape but trust me I got a few uphill routes I can take i can burn 2k calories (that is a normal persons recomended calorie intake for entire day) from just one ride, and hate myself the next day with how sore I will be as my body starts pulling nutriats from not jsut the fat but all over to make up for the trashed muscle tissue.
If you don't even know basics about diet and callories simmer down and keep your mout shut as you like a complete fool. Hell you should see what a body builder needs to eat just to maintain muscle mass child lol Your head would spin they got eat like 12 balanced meals a day to maintain those bodies, because all that muscle inhales callories and nutrients
but, i will also kind of say that food/water timers going down quickly are sort of boring to me past a point. when it becomes a chore preventing me from doing something else i'd rather do, like explore a cool world then it makes me kind of just want to play other games.
are there difficulty settings? i don't really care about trophys or whatever. i'm kind of busy in real life and would rather play certain games at a leisurely pace. an 'easy' or whatever mode where resources tick down much slower would be really great to consider. i play certain games hardcore style and it doesn't really allow me to go hardcore on others. my main love is FPS gaming at 144hz right now.
i saw some video's that said they enabled cheats, so maybe i can tweak the game to be played how it would be most enjoyable for me. since its a single players game i would be fine with it. i just want to have some fun and get scared here and there :]
regardless. game looks amazing, nice work!
Would you prefer to have the hunger/thirst system function primarily as a gameplay component or an aesthetic component?
Can't please everybody.
