FXAA or TAA? Which is better?
I can't decide between the two so I want to hear the playerbase's opinion. I play on TAA for now cuz it makes the foliage look sooo damn good but I REALLY DON'T like the blurriness it causes (almost lost a seamoth to a reaper). Also, I don't have any framerate issues with either.

Let´s say which is better depends on your system and your goal. Better performance oder just looking good. For good performance it´s FXAA. But if you want it to look good. You can stay with TXAA. FXAA is good for static images. But with moving objects, it´s usually better to use MSAA or TXAA. I personally prefer FXAA.

TAA is superior to fxaa.

It`s entirely a matter of preference. Their is no "better" or "best" option. It all depends on whether you prefer blurry graphics or jagged graphics. I hate when games look blurry so I normally play with Anti-Aliasing turned off. Only time I turn on AA is when a game has a lot of really bad artifacts or bugs when not using it. Artifacts such as everything looking like it is covered in white glitter or sparkles, screen door effects, and jagged looking hair. When that happens I usually go with FXAA or SMAA. I feel like it`s a fair comprimise between blurry and jagged. I can`t stand TAA or FXAA+TAA so I never use that.

TAA is slightly more hazy/blurry and takes a lot more performance, but eliminates jagged edges.

FXAA is good for performance, fairly sharp, but doesn't completely rid you of jagged edges.

If you find yourself squinting a lot and have trouble finding things, due to objects being washed out, consider FXAA.
But if the flickering jagged edges annoy you, then pick TAA.

i've been playing subnautica wrong, i should be playing with TAA.

Normally TAA is superior to FXAA, but sometimes in Subnautica I feel like it adds some odd unintended motion blur so I've been sticking with FXAA. At 1440p there aren't a lot of jaggies anyway.

Speaking of blurring I find this game benefits a lot from Nvidia's image sharpening. You can enable it with the alt-F3 filter menu or just in the Control Panel. AMD's equivalent is probably worth a try too.

Edit: TLDR: Basically everything that Jinx said ^^^^^^^

TAA usually makes me squint because of the soft AKA blurry image, but it does a better job of killing those jaggies--especially in motion. Of course, you could always try a bit of image sharpening if the fuzziness is too distracting. Supersampling is also an option. Sometimes it is even better to disable in-game AA and use your GPU settings, or at least "enhance" the in-game filtering. There are too many variables involved here, but you can always experiment.

The "best" option depends upon the game, your hardware, resolution, and most importantly: personal taste. I will say that higher resolution rendering and minimal AA tend to look far better (IMO) than lower res with heavy AA filtering, but again: results may vary.
