Any crucial uses for Propulsion Cannon?
It takes 4 spaces in my inventory. I take it with me after I've encountered, what I thought was, an entrances blocked by ruble in some wreckage, but it looks like I was mistaken/it was possible to go another route. I haven't yet seen any uses for it after Aurora (and even that was workaroundable).

So are there any wrecks/places that require this cannon to get into (like with laser cutter), or is it basically useless at this point (i.e. I can safely put it away and not waste my inventory space)?

Not much use after the Aurora, many wrecks doesn't have much movable objects. You could use it to launch fish tho.

It is useful for mining and can be used to fire objects at hostiles if you are quick about it.
well one use is grabbing ores and fish

Yeah, you can make it through everything without the propulsion cannon.

It's a handy tool to speed up gathering items and it can be used as an impromptu weapon at times, but it's really not a necessity.

It's actually pretty easy to "parkour" over the boxes covering the storage bay entrance once you get the hang of it.

I find it the best tool for pulling leeches off my Cyclops further down.

Oh yeah. On my first play-through, I thought that was the intended way to get over that area.
It was only much later that I came to realize that the propulsion cannon could even move larger objects at all.

Works very well for nasty little crab thingies... love splatting them into rock walls, and power leeches, of course. I don't carry it unless I'm going into a area with those particular creatures. The Repulsion canon, though, I dearly love thumping naughty things with that!

Anything is easy if you have the hang of it.

IMO I always have it with me as I love using it on the crab things, I always take my time with this game so I'm not worried about carrying 4 extra items as I love gathering, its kinda therapeutic to me.

The Propulsion Cannon is decent, though I don't know why you'd use it for anything other than crashfish. I, however, personally prefer the Repulsion Cannon.

I'm a simple man. I see lava larva on my BLOCK SCUTSH CYCLOPS, I 'murica it out of 'ere... m'yte.

well, you CAN turn it into a rocket launcher if you also got yourself an alien containment unit and 2 crashfish, which is pretty fun, or you can load your gun with gas pods and annoy any big creatures coming your way.

you can grab small fish easily and either eat them or turn them into lethal ammo and fire them at bigger fish, and you can grab small but harmful critters and fire them away (those lil crabs and lava leeches are really annoying, maybe use it on the little biter fish too)

you can grab resources easily, and also use those as ammo too.

you can somehow fly on a piece of metal using the cannon, which can also be quite fun, although useless.

and you can move big boxes in the aurora and shipwrecks with it.

thats pretty much all ya can do with a propulsion cannon. now you can decide whether that's worth the inventory space or not. in the end, it depends on what you're currently going to do. just stash it away in your cyclops with a couple of batteries and ammo like crashfish and gas pods when you don't need it.

Catching fish, feeding hostile carnivores, knocking down bugged prawn suit, getting rid of annoying crabs... I tend to keep one around.

I use mine as a fishing pole,

You know the old tie a string to a dollar and pull it to mess with people prank, use it and some salvage to mess with the stalkers if you get bored, and when they get mad just shoot them in the face with it.

there is only 1 wreck where it is needed that i know of and that is over by the underwater floating islands by the gun. there is a door that is laying on top of a ladder that you need the propulsion cannon to move to get into. outside of that you don't "need" it for anything. but it is a lot of fun to have imo, if for no other reason than sending cave crawlers into orbit lol!

i actually build the propulsion cannon as quickly as i can because as wesker noted. it makes fishing extremely easy.

I second this.
