Funny/Horror moments while exploring?
share your funniest/scariest moment while exploring the crater and all its wonders, mine was a horror encounter with the reaper leviathan lurking near the aurora wreck, i talked about in a previous post how much i hate this creature, i nearly had a heart attack when my seamoth started shaking violently (the reaper grabbed it from behind) and i heard that roar that immediately i exited the game. a funny moment i had when i used an upgraded prawn suit (drill arm + jet pack + depth module) and finally killed the horror that haunted my dreams ever since that encounter near the aurora wreck....hehehe bloody beast grabbed me and i drilled a hole in its face xD was the most satisfying moment when it writhed in agony and finaly died

Swimming though a cave in one of the kelp forests looking for quartz, silver and more quartz.

Turn a corner.

Wall to wall crashfish.

Explosions following me all the way back out.

Heres something that you never wanna do, dont ever go to the gas caves with the volume muted then only realize that its muted once your in the cave then you unmute it only to hear a giant roar behind you and see ghost leviathan in your face.

My very first game. I took a brand new seamoth to the Aurora and ran it too far up the ramp. I found out after coming back to it that it would not move. So I left it there and swam back to the base in the shallows. It turned out to be a good locator beacon.

Later I went back to the Aurora in another seamoth, parked it properly, and went in and took care of business. Came back out, hopped in and spun around and took off.......straight into a reaper! It had a little health laft when the reaper let it go so I took off to the mushroom forest. Got down in the, stopped and got out the repair tool, and a boneshark finished it off.

Funny: Dropping my Prawn Suit Depth module mk1 into the blood kelp by mistake, then losing it. Horror: Seeing the Seadragon leviathan really close to my cyclops. I turned off everything and hid

So, I was trying to go to the floating island, I don’t remember why, but I miscalculated my course and missed it. So I’m just going along in my seamoth, and I hear “Warning: Entering ecological dead zone” So my noob a** thinks “oh this sounds cool” and dives deeper. All of a sudden, a massive ghost Leviathan attacks me. Two hits, moth gone. One more, me gone. I didn’t play or get in the water for the next week.

:10_level:/:10_level: story. *leviathan sounds*

Also, Steam (most of the time) automatically censors vulgar slang and the like, so you don't have to replace a majority of your potentially offensive word with asterisks.

While exploring via air pipes a system of caves, went a bit further than necessary, low O2 needed to come back to the pipe end to refill only to find 2 of those alligator things loving up my underwater locker filled with tasty bits. Closed space, more like a crevice, me on the last seconds of air, those things swimming around biting indiscriminately after having been slashed with that knife..intense stuff. (in retrospect, I should just have swam to the next connector and removed the last bit of pipe)
Or, swimming too far, deciding surface is closer, O2 out, getting there 2 or 3 seconds after vision got black. I said to myself that was it, bye bye. Revived then and there though.
But blood curdling was that teleporter thing doing its rounds somewhere beneath the seamoth's depth. Suddenly, in the dark, something technological, unknown, slightly humanoid, BIG, fast and silent. Somehow I became very self conscious..:D

Crashing my cyclops into my large base. Beached the thing on it like a whale, couldn't wiggle it off. It had 80% of my resources in it, so losing that cyclops was not an option. I could see the base flooding threw the glass, damage everywhere, and was continuing to take damage. Seriously thought I was going to lose both! I was able to position the stuck cyclops so it stopped taking damage and quickly built a new cyclops to ram the other one lose. Fixed everything, but I was scared.
