Salt, how to collect

Hello-
I finally found a salt deposit, but it said I needed a special tool to collect it. I was wondering if someone could give me a hint about that...

Should you want to mine large resource deposits, you'll need to acquire a Prawn Suit and THEN a Prawn Suit Drill Arm.

Salt can also be found in smaller bits you can loot with your hands on the ground in and around the Grassy Plains (the areas with tall red grass).

Yep, there is plenty of salt hidden in red grass. In some of my playthroughs i used scanner room and HUD chip to be able to find it.
Anyway once you start using water filtration machines, that should supply you with enough salt.
