Any way to reset game? Start new?
Decided after playing a bit, that i'm kind of tired of having to eat/drink constantly, so decided I'd start a new game in freedom to not have to deal with it.

But whenever I start a game, whether freedom, survival or hardcore...it freezes on intro, I can still hear the audio, and then after completion, it puts me in the game with my previous games inventory (that I just quit from)...both my personal inventory and the starting crafts inventory.

Any way to reset it and start again from the very beginning?

I tried deleting my previous save and verifying game cache...didn't work.

May be worth verifying game cache or even reinstalling as a fix, too.

Like I said, I already tried verifying game cache.

And I can't be bothered reinstalling, hopefully it gets fixed. I can still play, it's just strange that it doesn't start over from beginning.

After deleting your Save does it still show an active save when you start the game?

Nope, when i delete the game, I exit, then restarted the game completely. From there, i go to play, and my only option is start a new game.

I click that, it begins exactly like the first time, except it generally freezes on me holding the object I last had in my hand from my deleted game before. It freezes in that position, while I hear the sound of the intro. After that finishes, the game resumes, but all my progress from my last save is still there. All my objects in my inventory and hand slots.

My ship inventory has all the stuff still in it as well. I have 4 fire extinguishers now, from my restarts. The only thing different, is it appears I am not starting in the same spot, each time looks different. My waterproof cases are missing, but I'm assuming it's cause I'm not in the same starting location.

Clearly a bug then - but not one I've heard about before - use F8 to report in-game and/or post on the "Bugs, Crashes and other Horrors" subforum (subforums are listed on the right side of the Main page).

(and just FYI there are 5 random starting locations for the lifepod - all near each other in the Safe Shallows)

Maybe try a complete reinstall? And try to make sure you complete delete every Subnautica related file you can.

change the graphics setting i am sure that will work. maybe turn off or lower some of the new graphic options that were added recently

Subnautica stores additional files outside of the Steam folder in a hidden folder called AppData that is located in your user folder. And it seems to be all over the place. The game still thinks that any saved game folder with a certain name ("slot0000," "slot0001," "slot0002," etc.) is the same saved game and will retrieve the same data for any saved game with that name, even if the files for that saved game have been deleted from the Subnautica folder in Steam. The best thing you can do is to delete all of your saved games and do a complete reinstall.

EDIT: Added to response.
