Looking for Safe Shallow Caves & Sulfur
I've found a couple places that appear to be caves but I cannot find any sulfur. I went about 1000 meters north of the lifepod and there are little caves with no sulfur.

I found a big cave near the radiation area of the Aurora but I couldn't find any sulfur there either. It's very difficult to explore that cave because the Seamoth only goes to down to 200 and I run out of oxygen too quickly.

I've read that crashfish hang around sulfur plants. I've definitely encountered those fish before but I don't remember where as I was frantically running away from them at the time and didn't know they "guarded" the sulfur.

I found one cave a long time ago and the computer said there was sulfur around and how important it was but I suffocated. I've no idea where that cave is :(

The plant where the crashfish comes out contains sulfer. They should hang out around the Safe Shallow Caves. Bring a seaglide, air tank and medkit.

Which direction from the lifepod are the caves?

Uh, where ever there's a hole you can go through, there might be some crashfish hiding there. Don't know which direction, all around the lifepod?

Yah don't leave the Safe Shallows (where the Lifepod is located). Just look in any cave in that shallow area - you won't need a Seamoth - in fact I recommend keeping it very far away as you're hunting so it doesn't get blown up accidentally.

It’s any cave system in the safe shallows. If you have full health upon approach then a crashfish won’t one shot you. Go to the start of any cave in the safe shallows and start poking around in there.

In most situations you’ll end up hearing the crash fish before you see it. They make like a warning sound when you get too close, if you see him first it’s the sound they make when they open their petals. After this point if you get any closer that’s when they will pop out and suicide.

Again sound is a big factor at this point. When they pop out they make like a siren noise that gets more high pitch as they are about to explode. At this point your best bet is try to go back up immediately.

After you hear the explosion try to go back into the caves and find the plant that he spawned out of. In the center of the plant the sulfer will be waiting.

^ here’s a video showing one and where the powder is. It’s a little out of date and the guy uses a stasis rifle but you really dont have to do that and the powder spawn rate has basically been upped to 99% so yay.

Thanks. Sounds like I've been going too far away from the lifepod. I'll look around in areas more close. Like 100 meter away?

Like, right under the pod.
