(the funny part is that the game only has a few tutorial-type messages in it, one if which is KNIFE CREEPVINE when you first have a knife and are near a Creepvine)

The worst about those message is that they disappear rather quickly and unnoticed.. And when you get that stalker after you....
I think for not forum lurkers or googlers, these messages need to be logged somewhere so you can read it when safe. Reading those messages doesn't stop the environment from attacking you it seems.

I actually never saw the message apparently. I just saw the recipe and hit the plant with my knife after trying to find a way to "grab" the creepvine for about 15 minutes.

You can always look at fabricator recipes and figure things out from there.
Oh ? You say you only get creepvine clusters from them ? Well have you tried stabbing the creepvine for being naughty ?

I noticed yesterday that there is a log of messages. But the messages don't tell me anything anymore.
And it seems resource distribution is random, as when I watch the movies of where to find diamonds (yes, I already have crop crates for planting melons and bulbo's inside the base), walking those same paths, the resource for me are rather scarce (as in nothing).
And the amount of times I fall through the map :-(. Fortunately getting out is easy. But unfortunately, mountain island has caves above water level.

If a player cannot figure out how to get Fiber Mesh, then O M G..... He or she has a LOOOOOOONG way to go. Good luck with exploration!
