[Solved] What does this blue icon on my HUD mean?
I just started playing and so far I'm having an awesome time, but I can't figure out what this thing means.

I can't seem to accurately describe it enough to please Google, and if it was in any game text I totally missed it. If anyone can tell me I'd be grateful! Thanks!

It means you have an incoming message at the communications relay, there is one in the life pod you started in or you can build one at your base.

why not just follow it and see where it leads (but it even looks like the radio, that should have been a clue)

You can't follow it anywhere. I agree that the icon itself could use another look. It's not at all clear what it's indicating. The first few vids I did after they added it, I put in my own text "Indicates New Message Received" with an arrow pointing to the icon because I felt it was very hard to figure out what it was indicating on your own.

I thought it was like a beacon or any other radio type signal, It leads you somewhere if you head to it.

Well it's not a bad idea Archon - when the icon appears, maybe the Lifepod signal indicator could change to that same Radio icon until you retrieve the message - at which point it would go back to showing the Lifepod icon again.
