Entries are still blocked, not to get into. The base itself is in the area - Lost River. To the south-west of the first base will be entrance to the caves, in these caves (bones and green river) you will find the base. I can check the entrance coordinates if you need.

From the lifepod, if that is where you are at, head straight and to the left until you eventually get to the northern island. Standing on the front beach and looking out over the ocean, head straight and to the right a bit underwater. You'll pass over the underwater islands. After a little bit, you'll go over the wall on the other side and find yourself either in the blood kelp or western mushroom forest. If the later, head right to the blood kelp canyon. Dive down to find the large cavern entrance and follow it to the Ghost Tree Chamber. Continue straight through it to the brine fall and head down. At the bottom, go left until you find the wall opening on the left. That's the entrance to the Precursor base.

some have the compass. would be great if you give proper directions. but i think i know where this is
Soul Mar 12, 2017 @ 12:58pm
for example the compass directions on the planet 4546B are otherwise. north is south and such. when it says in the logs you have to look for it 1 km sothwest it means northeast( not proved)

I found the base just now! But I had to warp tp Lost River and a bit of exploration and it's there.Just can't get in as the interior I believe is in the next patch?

Going to bump, and add my 2 cents on directions for those that don't want to warp.
From the moon pool entrance to the first alien structure, turn directly southwest (or left about 15°) and travel 1,000 meters. Then descend 500-600 meters and look for the entrance. There are a few of them. If you have life pod 13's signal (Mongolian representative) there is one just to the east of that.
The biome itself is quite large, take many oxygens. Lol.

An alternate path is to head north-northeast in the cavern in the Grand Reef where the third Degasi seabase lies. Once in the Lost River you'll want to keep in a general eastern direction, and the cavern housing the 2nd base should appear on your right just before the Giant Cove Tree.

(To get into the Grand Reef caverns, explore the ocean floor a little east of the Floating Island. Can't really miss it.)

My Alien Facility Locations entry does not say 1km. I would propose to the devs to add that; an unbounded search at a depth of 800m in a given direction is an infinite search space, so I almost didn't bother with it. And when you try to find it and fail, there's no trail or further hint of where else to look (maybe add some kind of beacon?). I was over 1km away from lifepod 13 when I gave up and searched for these spoilers.

it is roughly at 800 meters head to the coordinates 1100,-400,950 or so. there is a giant hole there that takes u into the lost river corridor. follow the tunnel and u will eventually emerge near the facility. use caution however as there are juvenile leviathans in the tunnel, and take the time to look around on the way through tons of resources and its gorgeous down there.

I've been subbing and swimming around this area for probably 3-4 hours now, and nothing. There's not even anyplace close where I can descend to 500m. I F8'd a suggestion for a quest beacon; the fun of this ended a good while ago.

Or maybe connect all three bases with player-visible power conduits, since one base is allegedly a power source. Then if you can't find it with the vague depth-and-direction clue, you can go back and slow down and follow the trail.

If you want you can watch me describe its location here - I've cued this up to where I describe it but you can go back and watch the entire trip starting at my lifepod if you want.

I tend to navigate by signal locations. If you receive the distress call from lifepod #2 (Yu's), use that beacon to get to Blood Kelp--the entrance is just a little further--look for dimly green hues in the water. Once in the Lost River, head basically south and west, towards the abandoned Degrasi base in the Grand Reef (500 m) until you see precuror tech leading to the collapsed research base.

Hope this is helpful.
