A Vehicle to move above the water?!
It would be great if there would be a vehicle to move above the water. kind of boat or ship from what I can start my divings and explorations.

I don't really see much use for a boat in a game with "underwater exploration" as its main selling point. At best, it would be a cyclops which can move a bit easier in shallow water, but cannot dive. And in game progression is usually rewarded with the ability (and need) to dive deeper anyway.

"Sub" = below
"nautica" = water

The point is, everything takes place below the water's surface.

This. The SeaGlide, SeaMoth and Cyclops can all run on the surface. It wouldn't be SUBnautica if you had a boat.

We have one called the life pod.
Just nudge it with a vehicle or current generator (is the CG still a thing?)

I like the idea of an upgrade that adds deployable hydrofoils that let it move at high speed on the surface. Would be useful those who find the Seamoth to be more useful for transportation than for exploration.

Oh? So the islands on the surface do not exist?
Not even the gun that shot down the ship?

Those are only couple locactions, the majority of the game is still underwater.

I don't mind the idea however the seamoth and cyclops kind of make boats a little superfluous.

Would love to have a somewhat mobile floating base though, however the cyclops sort of already fills that purpose.

Maybe some sort of helicopter or shuttle craft?

instead of a vehicle, I think it would be neat to be able to slowly upgrade the lifepod to a full fledged floating base. I tend to always make a solar powered outdoor farming surface base fairly early in the game anyway, it would be nice to give the lifepod a purpose beyond the initial hours so it isn't just that floating marker you ignore. To sort of transform your liferaft into the player's beginer base, and then have their first real base be set deeper.

why is the big gun a spoiler?
Or did people expect it to be underwater too?

Right now Subnautica has 3 vehicles (As of November 26th, 2016), and they are the P.R.A.W.N. Suit, the Cyclops, and the Seamoth. None of them are suited for traversing large distances fast, which is why I thought of a new vehicle idea. It would be the "Skimmer".

Skimmer-A small vehicle that traverses the surface of the water at high speeds.
Max Speed- 26 Knots
Max Depth- 0 M Below
Features- Has a build point for an air pump, which can be attached to an unwindable pipe (Length of 50 M base). Cannot dive.
Upgrades:
Air Pump- Use the Habitat Constructor to add an air pump to the skimmer.
Unwindable Pipe- Use the minifabricator in it's dock (see below) to create the "Flexible Pipe". Up to three can be equipped at once, giving it a max depth of 150 M Below. The pipe would follow the player until the max length is reached, then the Computer would give a warning (Warning: Air supply disconnected) and detach. Note it is 150 M length, not depth. If you move horizontally, it will reach a more shallow depth.
Locker- A small 6X4 locker for storage.
Dock- The skimmer would park and charge in a small above-water module that can either be attached or separate from a base. Will have a gate at one end, and when the skimmer enters, the gate closes behind it. It will charge much like the Seamoth, but will float freely in its enclosure (The dock would be rather small but allow for some wiggle room). It can have the Vehicle Modification Station added.
Weaponry- The Skimmer comes with a slot for a remote Stasis Rifle or remote Propulsion/Repulsion Cannon on the underside of the skimmer that retracts when in movement. Access with a small video feed on the inside of the skimmer.
Window- The player can build a window on the bottom of the Skimmer, making a glass bottomed boat. This allows for a view below, to see wether it is safe or not. NOTE: The Weaponry cannot be used when the Window is being used, and Vice Versa.
Upgrade slots- 6 Slots for upgrades, two of which are reserved for Pipe. The other four can be anything from the general section of the minifabricator, or one more pipe and three upgrades. It will have it's own tab in the minifabricator, and will have the upgrades listed above (I.E. Flexible Pipe, Weaponry, Power Efficiency, and maybe even a Speed Upgrade [Maybe base speed is the seamoth's the and the speed upgrade makes it 26 Knots?].)
Design- Much like a Cigar Boat or Speed Pontoon. Two tracks with an open middle, a ladder in the back, one steering wheel 3/4 back on the right, with a camera below if the Stasis Rifle is attached. Has a horn- high pitched and a triple burst. Base colour with a thicker stripe on the tracks on top and bottom, wrapping around with two small stripes flanking that one.

What do you guys think? Did I leave any cool features out? What should be added? Thank you for your time.

I copied this from my other discussion, so if some things seem odd, that's why.

1 drive your cyclops
2 hold space the whole time 3 you have a boat

Not sure why so many people here are so vehemently against the idea of a boat to drive on the surface. It seems like a fine idea to me. The arguments that this game is meant to be played underwater, while mostly true, neglect to take into account the Aurora, life pod, and floating island.

Now, I'm not sure if a boat is really necessary, but I imagine it would be fun to ride around in one.
