"nautica" = water
The point is, everything takes place below the water's surface.
This. The SeaGlide, SeaMoth and Cyclops can all run on the surface. It wouldn't be SUBnautica if you had a boat.
Just nudge it with a vehicle or current generator (is the CG still a thing?)
Not even the gun that shot down the ship?
Would love to have a somewhat mobile floating base though, however the cyclops sort of already fills that purpose.
Maybe some sort of helicopter or shuttle craft?
Or did people expect it to be underwater too?
Soooo these beautiful islands with all that above ground terrain, plants and nie fresh air ad sunlight are just figments of our imaginations then!! AHHHHHH I get it!! ;)
Skimmer-A small vehicle that traverses the surface of the water at high speeds.
Max Speed- 26 Knots
Max Depth- 0 M Below
Features- Has a build point for an air pump, which can be attached to an unwindable pipe (Length of 50 M base). Cannot dive.
Upgrades:
Air Pump- Use the Habitat Constructor to add an air pump to the skimmer.
Unwindable Pipe- Use the minifabricator in it's dock (see below) to create the "Flexible Pipe". Up to three can be equipped at once, giving it a max depth of 150 M Below. The pipe would follow the player until the max length is reached, then the Computer would give a warning (Warning: Air supply disconnected) and detach. Note it is 150 M length, not depth. If you move horizontally, it will reach a more shallow depth.
Locker- A small 6X4 locker for storage.
Dock- The skimmer would park and charge in a small above-water module that can either be attached or separate from a base. Will have a gate at one end, and when the skimmer enters, the gate closes behind it. It will charge much like the Seamoth, but will float freely in its enclosure (The dock would be rather small but allow for some wiggle room). It can have the Vehicle Modification Station added.
Weaponry- The Skimmer comes with a slot for a remote Stasis Rifle or remote Propulsion/Repulsion Cannon on the underside of the skimmer that retracts when in movement. Access with a small video feed on the inside of the skimmer.
Window- The player can build a window on the bottom of the Skimmer, making a glass bottomed boat. This allows for a view below, to see wether it is safe or not. NOTE: The Weaponry cannot be used when the Window is being used, and Vice Versa.
Upgrade slots- 6 Slots for upgrades, two of which are reserved for Pipe. The other four can be anything from the general section of the minifabricator, or one more pipe and three upgrades. It will have it's own tab in the minifabricator, and will have the upgrades listed above (I.E. Flexible Pipe, Weaponry, Power Efficiency, and maybe even a Speed Upgrade [Maybe base speed is the seamoth's the and the speed upgrade makes it 26 Knots?].)
Design- Much like a Cigar Boat or Speed Pontoon. Two tracks with an open middle, a ladder in the back, one steering wheel 3/4 back on the right, with a camera below if the Stasis Rifle is attached. Has a horn- high pitched and a triple burst. Base colour with a thicker stripe on the tracks on top and bottom, wrapping around with two small stripes flanking that one.
What do you guys think? Did I leave any cool features out? What should be added? Thank you for your time.
I copied this from my other discussion, so if some things seem odd, that's why.
2 hold space the whole time 3 you have a boat
Now, I'm not sure if a boat is really necessary, but I imagine it would be fun to ride around in one.
