Cannot get to data box in wreck on Grassy Plateau!
Please help me get to the data box in the wreck on the Grassy Plateau. I've jumped, tried to use the laser cutter, tried the gizmo that moves things, I just can't get to it. It's "right there!" And because of that, I can't get the blueprints for the vehicle modification thingie. I've tried restarting, banging my head, and scouring the interwebs. Help!:steamsad::steamsad:

Is there a tooltip when you mouse over it? If not, you've probably already got that blueprint.

If you are using the Scanner room HUD mod to view the locations of the fragments it is entirely bugged out. Once you collect the fragements they wills till show on the Scanner Room radar HUD forever it seems. Quite annoying but I have found no way to remove them. Even turning off scanner and rescanning still shows the parts being where they where.

What they are trying to say is: not all blueboxes actually have content in them. If it look open then it is, open. And thus there is nothing inside.

If you really mean a normal data box which really seem to not be open yet then it might be a bug with the databox being "stuck" in terrain where you can't target it. Using console commands will help you in that case.

I know the one they mean. The box is closed and completely visible but the debris around the databox prevents you from getting close enough to open the box or even to be able to get a tooltip on it. I eventually just gave up on that one...

--- Eagle_of_Fire, what console command can I use for this? I've tried the one where you open all blueprints but it did nothing. I can't move forward with this.

--- zordah, how do you then get the vehicle modification station and upgrade your prawn suit?

I believe I found the databox for it in another wreck elsewhere, behind a closed door I had to cut open.

Encountered this one too. Super annoying to have it within view a couple feet away, but out of reach even though you're close enough you should be able to open it.

I do not know the commands on the top of my head but just head to the official Subnautica Wiki. They have several pages dedicated to this and those are very well documented. I used them myself to force some tech on myself after realising they were both nowhere to be found and reseting to zero on game load which pretty much would have screwed my whole game.

I've found a solution - Blast these boxes with the Repulsion Canon (upgraded Propulsion Canon/Gravity Gun). If they don't fall through the floor, they'll bounce across the wrecked rooms and you should now be able to access them. :)

I've also since found out that all data boxes are openable regardless of if you already know the blueprint or not, when I thought that these glitched unopenable boxes were because the blueprint was already known - You should be able to open all boxes, but will get 2 titanium if you already know what's in them.

I have a lot of tech boxes I 100% I've never oppened (behind a sealed, have to cut thru door for example) which were already "looted" with nothing inside.

They're confusing those small boxes with "fragments" to scan in them, with databoxes.

"Fragments" of items, such as the laser cutter, stasis rifle, or seamoth parts, once you know how to make them from scanning them, will become Titanium upon further scans.

"Databoxes" once you take the chip out of it and have the tech, all the other ones that had that tech in them will look looted, but still glow and you cannot interact with them.

The distinction helps when you use the scanner room.

Hmm. I've now experienced getting titanium from databoxes that I already have the tech.
Never seen that before.

In the larger of the two mushroom forests you can get the blueprint you seek from a wreck atop a mushroom tree. That box your trying to access is a dud or a tease depending on your point of view.
