Lost Cyclops in Void

Hi all,
Fairly new to subnautica here. Just built my first cyclops and was piloting it around when I discovered an area I didn't yet know to be the void. Anyway, since I'm still getting a feel for the more dangerous areas I had no way of recognizing it as completely devoid of resources so I pressed on. Cue ghost leviathans. They tore my cyclops to pieces. I was storing a lot of my most valuable stuff (purple artifacts, other rare resources like that) and I've been sent back quite a few spaces. Any advice on how to scavenge all that loot while minimizing risk?

I would recommend against going down there for anything. If I were you I would load a previous save. Other than that rebuild and don't do go down there. That's all I can suggest.

The sub has enough warnings on it so really one more doesn't matter. Adding one that lets you know you are entering the void would help new players. Just make sure they know some how that the VOID = BAD.

Sounds like I'll just have to craft new alien artifacts as necessary and accept the loss. Oh well. Thanks for the advice guys. And yeah, the void really reallly needs a more vocalized warning.

The void does in fact have a sea floor, but its DEEP, like 2-3km deep.

So no vehicle can actually handle the pressure of those depths. You'd have to dive down using a seaglide, which would be terrifying lol.

So yeah, its basically irretrievable unfortunately.

A lot of the stuff you can craft like the purple artifacts but if you want to get there safely there is a way to do it, but it involves cheating
First Nodamage: to ot take damage applies fot subs to 👌
Second get another cyclops before you go to slavage your old one
Third Make enough storage for everything
Fourth go get em
Remeber seaglide, riencforced dive suit and stasis rifle

Yeah, the ghosts of the void are very OP. They need to toned down some on their hit points.

I don't understand, did you save after you lost your sub? If you lose your sub there would be no reason to save the game, would there? You can go back to an earlier save, I've never done it but it"s easy enough to find instructions.

@ceir I'm kinda stubborn about iron man-ing and not going back to previous saves. I've learned my lesson, and I can craft everything I lost back. Just put together a new cyclops, and this time I'll have a shield generator and hull reinforcement.

when you get one, go down there with a prawn suit. actually come to think of it... i dont think the void even HAS a bottom to it. i think its an endless void of nothingness. so R.I.P cyclops. its probably STILL FALLING, RIGHT NOW

Actually for your guys' reference, when a cyclops explodes it doesnt sink. I checked it out, in and out with a seamoth, and it's in the exact same spot, just...floating there. A ghost. Like its neighbors.

Ergo is right it will drop a few meters and then stop so techinically he could still reach it.

its kind of up to you Ergo how you want to rememdy the situation:
1.) You can use some console commands and get the stuff you had back. You are a new player so honestly I wouldn't consider it cheating. Besides its a single player game so who cares? XD
2.) Again you could use commands llike "invisible" and scury yourself down there to get your stuff (except the cyclops obv).
3.) Or you can accept the loss and just gather and make what you had again.

Totally up to you. :)

Not saving the game after a loss is NOT cheating. Not only do you correct the mistake but at the same time you lose all the gains you may have made since the last save. It's too easy to make rather dumb mistakes when you're a beginner... and the game is still in Alpha so the devs are making mistakes too

I don't disagree with you ceir but the goal is mistake correction right? I have the patience to recreate everything I lost but I completely understand anyone who'd prefer to reload. In any case, not visiting the void ever again.
