Wait for it, wait for it.....
That is when they are going to add Coop/multiplayer.
Oh I am going to trigger so many ppl.
*Grabs popcorn and waits*
That's exactly what I would do. As a matter of fact, that is what I jokingly think that my character is thinking as he narrowly escapes yet another reaper leviathian.
But I would not be surprised either of these happened
a) You build the rocket platform and get destroyed by Quarantine Enforcement because your equipment is contaminated or the Precursors designed the system to prevent their technology/knowledge being taken off-world (4546B)
or
b) After escaping 4546B in the Rocket and waiting in space for Alterra to recover you, the Precursors arrive on a cliff-hanger
Why I think these could happen
Given the Precurors understand the potential of the Carar spreading to organisms beyond 4546B they either
a) Evacuated the staff on 4546B before they could be infected with Carar (likely this one)
b) Abandoned the staff on 4546B out of caution
The Precursors likely still exist and have been monitoring all facilities on 4546B; the QEP destroying 3 inbound targets then being unexpectedly deactivated soon after would be a huge red flag worthy of investigating with force to ensure the Carar is contained on 4546B.
They could lock a special ending behind completing the game on Hardcore, like how Halo locks the special cutscenes behind completing the game on Legendary
He becomes so rich from it that he buys all of Alterra Corp itself and becomes a tyrant overlord of space.
The end.
precisely. alterra sent the ship out improperly staffed as well as improperly supplied. not to mention the pda software being horribly out of date. hence why we have to scan for blueprints. the overall negligence on alterra's part would cost them the company once the survivor returned.
The game could be called... Atmospherica. It could be a thing. I would support that.
They could also send you into the nearest star, because Alterra is run by sociopaths in suits.
